Austin Ridge Bible Church - New Year's Day

It is the first day of the year, might as well start the year off right with a round of disc golf!  Today Steve and I played the Austin Ridge Bible Church.  Steve brought a friend along with him, Mark, who is in town visiting for the holidays.  Weather today was a little cool but the big factor was the wind.  On the holes with lots of trees it was not much of a factor and I made par on most of those.  On the holes that were wide open the discs were much more difficult to control.  Several went on wild rides into the thick cedar rough.  There seemed to be more groups than usual playing the course today.

For such a young player Mark has a full assortment of shots in his bag.  Backhand, flick and even a tomahawk and he gets good distance and accuracy on all of them.  He played a very respectable round today considering it was his first time playing this course, plus the difficulty of the course and having to deal with the windy conditions.

Four birdies made today Steve (2) and Mark (2).  None for me and it's my home course!  Steve birdied #1, first time someone in our group has done that.  Someone tagged the #1 basket with an ace on 12/15/2013.  I had some good throws today, a monster drive well past the big tree on number 3.  I had some bad throws too and missed a few putts.  I can't blame all of it on the wind.  No discs lost and no discs found.
