Circle C

We had twelve people show up this morning, such a large group today that we had to split up into two groups. The players were:  Bob, Steve, Keith, Dave, Brian, Parker, Derek, Adam, Ryan, Danny, David and me.  The weather was warm, cloudy and humid.  Almost no wind.  Good conditions for disc golf even though the course was a little muddy.

I played all right today, had some good drives, had some crappy drives. I missed a couple of putts that I should have made, one for birdie.  A total of twelve birdies were made today:  Steve(3), Adam(3), Heady(1), Dave(1), David(1), Ryan(1), Brian(1) and Danny(1).

How Discs Fly - A Beginners Guide to Disc Golf

This video from October 22, 2012, explains how discs work. It's designed for beginners who have no clue why discs fly the way they don't want them to.

I wish I would have seen this a couple of years ago.  A good instructional video that explains the flight characteristics of different discs based on their speed, stability, weight, wind conditions and ability of the golfer.

East Metro Park - Burko's Last Round

A large group turned out Sunday to play one last round with Burko before he moves to Michigan.  The group consisted of:  Lif, Dave, Steve, Bob, Keith, Brian, Burko, Micah and me.   Keith had three of his friends join us and we were playing with a group of twelve.  Micah had to bail out after nine holes.  Sunny skies, slight winds and temperatures in the mid 80's.

Playing with a large group slowed us down, but on the good side, we had lots of help to look for errant discs in the rough.  The rough was really rough today!  Recent rains really made the brush extra thick and it was a challenge to find discs in the thick, thorny vegetation.

Keith's friend, Adam Demetri, had the shot of the day, an ace on hole #6.  He threw a strong, level drive that powered through several branches before hitting the chains.  A very nice shot!

Not sure of the birdie count, I think Steve had three and Brian had one.  I had a decent round but I did miss four putts I should have made.  Brian found three discs in the rough.  Lif lost another disc :(

Good luck in Michigan Burko, we will miss playing with you.
