Westside Park - Marble Falls

I've been on vacation this week and the weather was nice, so I decided to drive to Marble Falls and play the Westside Park DGC.  I really like this course, a nice combination of technical shots and long bombs.  Temperatures were in the middle 80's, partly cloudy skies and lots of mosquitoes from the recent rains.   The creek that passes through the course was running high.  I had to remove my shoes to cross the creek on #6.  I did not play hole #17 because there was no place to cross.  So I played the first hole a second time.

Overall a good relaxing round, I made two birdies and just missed two more.  I had a couple of disaster holes on #9 and #15 but ended up just three over for the day.  I pretty much had the course to myself.  I did run into a couple of regulars when I was trying to cross the creek on #6.  They said there was a bridge but it was washed out from the rains.  No discs lost but I did find two.

My drive on #3.  I could not see the water when I threw

Rather intimidating.  My drive sucked.  Did not want to risk a mulligan!

The #8 basket

I threw a mulligan on #11.  Bad idea.  Stuck in the trees.

I paid the price getting thru the green briar.

Not much of a fairway on #12

This is usually dry.  I threw one of my found discs

I could not cross the creek to #17

Roy G. Guerro - The Great Equalizer

It stopped raining long enough for us to get a round in at Roy G. today.  Today's players were:  Steve, Big Dave, Keith, Lif, Dave Darden and Heady.  Temperatures were in the low 80's, mostly cloudy skies and hardly any wind.  Lots of large hungry mosquitoes were out on the course today.  Course conditions were fair,  a little muddy and some of the fairways could have used some mowing.  Only a few other people on the course today not counting the group of nine ahead of us that played very slowly.

I did alright for this course today.  Most of my drives were straight and long, my approach shots were close enough but putting let me down.  I missed three putts I really should have made.  Lif has been getting his drive on.  Very straight throws with some distance.

No birdies made today.  No discs found and no discs lost.

Always a dangerous climb down to the first tee

Circle C - Labor Day

We took advantage of the Labor Day holiday to play a round at Circle C.  Today's players were:  Lif, Dave, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's, mostly cloudy skies, no wind at all and it was extremely humid.  Course conditions were good, looks like they had a little rain in the past couple of days.  There were lots of players on the course today and we had to let several groups play through.

I finally got my drive back and had some very good throws, especially on #3 and #5.  On #3 I threw past the basket and was lucky to save par.  On #5 I made it down to the fairway turn and was lucky to save bogey.  My putting was pretty good today also, I only missed one putt and that was on #14.

Only two birdies made today:  Heady(1) and Keith(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

East Metro Park - Manor

Since Bob was out of town the last time we played Manor, we decided to play it again to let him see what he missed out on.  Welcome back to Keith who returned from his Hawaiian vacation.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Dave, Keith, Bob and Heady.  Temperatures were in the middle 80's, mostly sunny skies and no wind to speak of.  It was also very humid, everyone was sweating after the first hole.  Course condition were good, very dry and there was a new fallen tree on #14.  We pretty much had the course to ourselves.

I did not play as well as the previous time we played this course.  I only had about four good drives, my approach shots save me on several holes and I flat out missed about four putts, including two for birdies. Steve had a very good round, finishing up at +2.  Most of us had a below average day.

Only three birdies were made today:  Steve(2) and Bob(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
