Wells Branch Park

We haven't played Wells Branch in over two years, so we thought it would be a good idea to visit this course again.  This is a neighborhood course, running along a small creek, next to some apartment complexes.  The holes are generally short to very short, but they do require technical throws.  The creek and the poison ivy are both hazards for this course.

Temperatures were in the 70's when we started.  Skies were mostly cloudy and a  stiff breeze was blowing.  Later the clouds burned off but the breeze did not die down.  Today's players were:  Steve, Bob, Lif, Keith, Brian, Dave and Heady.  We started at 8:30 because this course can get crowded and they had a tournament that started at 10:00.  Thanks to Lif for buying the Macho Tacos this morning and thanks to Steve for picking them up!  I always play better after a couple of chorizo and eggs.

I played pretty well today, my drives were pretty good and my approach shots were  all pretty close.  I did miss a couple of putts, I can't blame the wind for those.  Because the holes were so short, Steve could not take advantage of his long drives.   Congrats to Dave and Keith for the below par scores.

A total of 19 birdies were made today.  Dave lead the way with six of them.  No discs lost, one disc found by Lif in the tall fairway grass.  Bob did find a "Hello Kitty" frisbee.

North Town - Last Day of Winter

To celebrate the last day of winter we played the North Town DGC in Plugerville.  Today's players were:  Combs, Heady, Dave, Lif, Bob, Keith and Brian.  Weather conditions were very nice, temperatures in the 70's. partly cloudy skies and a slight breeze.  Course conditions were good and there were lots of other groups on the course today.

I played about average for this course.  My drives were ok but I managed to get behind a lot of trees. I don't recall missing any putts.  Brian and Dave made several very long putts today.  Lif, the birthday boy, also made some nice putts.

A total of 11 birdies were made:  Steve(2), Heady(2), Dave(2), Lif(2), Keith(1), Bob(1) and Brian(1).  Everybody had a least one.  Three discs lost, Heady and Lif in the pond on #12.  Keith in the pond on #14.  Bob almost lost one on #13 but found it when stopped by later.  No discs found.
