Circle C

It was a nice warm day for a round of disc golf at Circle C.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Keith, Bob, Mark and Heady.  It was good to see Mark again.  Temperatures were in the mid 80's, skies were partly cloudy and there was very little wind.  Course conditions were dry and we had to rush our start to beat a tournament that was going on.

I played a little below average today, I could not place my approach shots in a my comfort zone.  I was just a little off.  If I had played just a little better I feel I could have knocked at least five strokes off.

A total of eight birdies were made today:  Keith(2), Mark(2), Bob(2), Steve(1) and Heady(1).  One disc lost and one disc found by Bob on #11.  He lost his drive in the brush but found one to make up for it.

Zilker Park - Father's Day - Let's Play Two

This week for Father's Day we decided to play two rounds at Zilker Park.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Lif, Bob, Brian and Heady.  It was a little warm with temperatures in the lower 90's.  Lots of sunshine and a pesky breeze that came into play.  Course conditions were good and there were lots of other groups on the course.  Some played very slowly.

I played about average, maybe a little below.  I was fighting the beginnings of a head cold.  I snapped off a few long drives but also forgot how to throw on a few holes.

There were 12 birdies in the first round:  Keith(3), Lif (3) in a row!, Steve(2), Brian(2) and Bob(2).  No discs lost but one disc found by Steve.

Lincoln Ridge Park

I was in Kentucky last week for business, five minutes after checking in to my hotel, my co-worker, Erick took me out to the Lincoln Ridge Disc Golf Course.  This really is a very beautiful and challenging course.  I have played it twice before and have enjoyed it each time.  I love that this course is a mixture of open rolling hills and tight tree lined shots.  Some holes have a deep canyon running along side the fairway.  Course conditions were excellent.  The fairways were mowed and there was no trash on the course.  We got to the course at about 6:30 and finished around 9:00.  The sun sets late in Kentucky.

I barely threw this disc downhill and it sailed 100 feet past the basket.

Roy G. Guerrero

It was a nice day at the Roy G. Guerrero Disc Golf Course today.  The group today consisted of:  Steve, Keith, Dave, Bob and Heady.  Temperatures were in the low 80's, abundant sunshine and no wind to speak of.  Course conditions were fair, some the the fairways had some growth.  There were several other groups on the course today.

I had some good drives today but I also had a couple of bad ones.  This is a very unforgiving course, one mistake and you can forget about making a par.  My approach shots were pretty accurate and I only missed one putt.  The problem with me today was hitting the trees or clipping an unseen branch.

No birdies were made today.  No discs lost and no discs found.  We lost the camera somewhere along he way, bound to happen sooner or later.  I took a few photos with my phone.
