Circle C - Nice Day

It was a beautiful day to play disc golf at Circle C.  Sunny skies, temperatures in the 70's and only a slight breeze.  However, the recent rains did spawn swarms of hungry mosquitoes.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Bob, Dave, Robert and me.  Lif and Brian could not make it due to family obligations so I took the liberty of inviting Robert to play with us.  Robert amazed us with his powerful, long distance drives.

I played a good front nine and ended up being two over, then the wheels fell off on the back nine.  I just ran into some bad luck with the trees.

Nine birdies were made today:  Bob(3), Robert(3), Keith(2) and Rob(1).  Two discs found, Robert found one on the first hole and Bob found one on the last hole.  One disc lost, Robert threw his drive into another dimension on number 11, it could still be going.

Steve and Keith played a second round, I played the first 10 holes with them.

Cat Hollow (aka Brushy Creek)

We played Cat Hollow (aka Brushy Creek) this weekend.  A small group played:  Lif, Steve, Big Dave, Brian and Rob.  Keith was in New York and Bob could not make it this week.  The weather was humid and sunny, the temperatures were in the lower 80's and only a slight wind.  Lots of sweating going on.  The course was busy but not congested.  We let one small group play through and we did not have to wait on any groups ahead of us.  We played quickly today, with a small group, relatively short course we finished before 11:00.

I started out in the trees for the first five holes and then recovered after that.  I did not have any birdies but I had at least four birdie putt attempts bounce off the basket.  Steve was a birdie machine today with five birdies, Brian had two and Lif had one.

No discs lost and no discs found.

Roy G. Guerrero

Cool weather was back today so we made the decision to try Roy G. Guerrero again.  It has been four months since we have played this course and we have been waiting for the heat to subside before we tried it again.  This is a long course with five holes longer than 700 feet (and that is from the short tees).  There are no par 5's on this course but there should be.  Today's group was:  Steve, Keith, Lif, David, Bob, Brian and me.  Bob joined us on the third hole.  It was good to have Bob back!

Weather conditions were overcast skies, temperatures in the upper sixties to low seventies and hardly any wind.  The ground was a little muddy from the rains of the past couple of days but it was not too bad.

I started out poorly, throwing several of my drives low and short.  I did recover and ended up with six pars (the most of the group).  The last time we played Roy G. I did not make a par the entire round.  I also had seven double bogeys and two frosties today.  Steve was snapping his drives today and several of them went a long way.  They were things of beauty to watch.

No birdies today, more double bogeys than pars.  Two discs found:  Steve(1) and Brian(1).  One disc lost:  Lif(1), left his green one somewhere.
