Roy G. Guerrero

After playing a difficult course last week in Manor we played an even more difficult course this week, Roy G. Guerrero.  Today's players were:  Combs, Dave, Keith, BOB and Heady.  It was a warm day for the end of October with temperatures in the 80's.  Sunny skies and no wind.  Several other groups were on the course.  Course conditions were good.

This course is very unforgiving, the holes are very long and the trees come into play on every hole.  If you make a mistake then you can forget about making par.  I can't believe there is not a par 5 on this course.

Keith had a really good round today.  His drives were long and straight, his approach shots were spot on and his putting was accurate.  He made par on the long #5 and went top shelf for par on #10.

I played about average today.  I started out with decent drives and I my putting was on target.  If only I could avoid hitting the trees.

No birdies today.  No discs lost and no discs found.

Steve starts us off.  Driving into the mist.

East Metro Park (Manor)

Today we took a trip out east to play the ever challenging East Metro Park in Manor.  We don't play this course until the temperatures go down and some of the growth dies off.  The rough on this course is downright dangerous.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Lif, Dave and myself.

It was a little chilly when we started with temperatures in the upper 50's but it warmed up to the low 70's by the time we finished.  Partly cloudy skies and a breeze did kick up on the last few holes.  Course conditions were good, they had recently mowed the fairways.  The roughs were still very thick but we avoided them for the most part.  Only a couple of other solo players were on the course.

I played pretty well today.  I had a few good drives and some very close approach shots.  I did miss three putts that I should have made.  I also made a 40 foot putt on #16 with Nick Mata to save par.  Keith made a very difficult 50 foot putt to save par on #13.

A total of four birdies were made:  Steve(2) and Keith(2).  No discs lost, but Lif found two discs on the second hole while searching for his drive.

Big Dave starts us off!

Austin Ridge Bible Church

Only a small group turned out this morning for a round at the Austin Ridge Bible Church.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave and Heady.  We've had very good weather for the middle of October, temperatures in the upper 70's, sunny skies and only a little wind.  Steve brought us a hearty breakfast of Macho Tacos!  I always play better after a good breakfast.

I played about average today.  I played this course on Friday and was horrible.  Today, I did alright with my drives.  My approach shots could have been a little better and I did miss a couple of putts.  We all hit our share of trees.

A total of four birdies were made today:  Steve(3) and Rob(1).  No discs lost but one disc found.  A white disc near the basket on #12.  It is easy to lose a white disc on this course because it blends in with all of the limestone.

Circle C - Nice Day

It was a nice day for a round of disc golf at the Circle C.  Temperatures were in the 60's when we started, sunny skies and almost no wind.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Lif, Dave, Bob and Heady.  Course conditions were good, maybe a little dry and overgrown.

I played this course solo on Friday and shot a personal best for the course of 3 over par. Today, I was not so fortunate.  I didn't play badly but a few holes were real scorecard busters for me.

A total of five birdies were made today:  Comb(1), Lif(1), Keith(1), Heady(1) and Dave(1).  Dave's was a long birdie putt on #1.  Tough to do.  No discs lost but three discs found just laying on the ground.

Steve starts us off.  Roscoe is watching!
