Wells Branch - Early Start

We had an 8:30 start at Wells Branch to avoid conflicting with their weekly tournament.  I'm glad we did, because when we finished the course was packed.  Today's players were:  Bob, Dave, Keith and Heady.  Lif and Steve were out of town.  It was cloudy when we started and temperatures were in the upper 40's.   The sun came out after a few holes and it warmed up nicely.  There was no wind.  Course conditions were very muddy because of the rains yesterday.

We all played well today.  Keith got off to a disaster start but recovered nicely with a string of five consecutive birdies.  I missed two birdie putts off the chains, I really thought I had made those.  I made a birdie putt that I thought was going to be way short.   Things work out that way....

A total of 15 birdies were made:  Keith(6),  Bob(5), Dave(3) and I only made one.  No discs found, no discs lost.  I almost lost my Tern when I flicked it over the fence.  Luckily the gate was unlocked and I had to trespass to recover it.

Wilco - Another Cold Morning

It was another cold morning for disc golf.  This week we play up north at the Williamson County DGC in Leander.  Today's players were Steve, Lif, Dave, Keith, Bob and Heady.  Temperatures were in the middle 30's when we started, but the sun was shining and the breeze was slight.  Thanks to Steve for bringing the Macho Tacos!  Course conditions were very good and there were several other groups on the course.  One group was coming off when we got there at 9:00.

I played about my average for this course.  I got off to a slow start, but I found my drive on the back nine.  My approach shots with Nick Matta were pretty much spot on today.  I missed at least three putts that I thought I made.

Only four birdies were made today:  Steve, Bob, Keith and Rob.  No discs lost, but Steve found one the #6 fairway.

Munching on some Macho Tacos!

Dave starts us off!

Bob with a difficult shot.

Bob must have gotten dressed in a hurry, in the dark!

Despite the temperature, it was a good day!

Circle C - Cold Day in January

It was a little cold this morning when we played a round at Circle C.  Temperatures were in the upper 30's when we started.  But the sun was shining and the wind was not too bad.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, DD, Bob Keith and Heady.  Course conditions were still a little muddy and the creek was full.  There was some kind of tournament going on, so we had to contend with a lot of other players.

I played a little below my average today.  I had a good front nine but fell apart on the back nine.  I did not miss any putts that I thought I should have made.  My approach shots were either perfect or horrible, so my putts were either tap ins or out of my range.  Keith got off to a great start with three consecutive birdies.  Steve had the shot of the day with his second throw on #11.  After a very nice drive he threw a laser about 300 feet that slid right up under the basket for a tap in birdie.

A total of seven birdies where made today:  Keith(4), Steve(2) and Rob(1).  One disc found on #11 by Lif, the guy came to his house and picked it up.....Karma credit to Lif! One disc lost by DD, he left it behind somewhere on the course.
