MetCenter - Early Start

We started at 8:00 this morning at MetCenter to beat the heat.  I'm glad we did.  I was not feeling 100% today.  The players today were:  Steve, Keith, Bob, Mike and Rob.  Sunny skies, little wind and temperatures were in the 80's.  Not too bad.  Course conditions were very dry, which is unusual for the Met.  There were several other groups on the course and we let a couple of them play through.

Even though I was not feeling well I still managed to have a decent game.  My drives were not that good but my approach shots kept me in the game.  I only missed one putt that I really should have had.  On the back nine my power started to fade.  Overall, the group did pretty well.  Mike made a long putt to save par on the difficult #2 and Keith made a long putt on #8 for birdie.  This was Mike's first time to play this course and he did very well.

A total of seven birdies were made today:  Steve(2), Keith(2), Mike(2) and Bob(1).  No discs lost but one disc found by the basket on #6.

Circle C - Early Start - Hot Day

With a forecast high of 106 degrees, we decided to get an early, 8:00AM start at Circle C.  Today's players were: Steve, Donald, Bob, Lif, Dave and Heady.  Temperatures were in the low 80's when we started and in the mid 90's when we finished.  Skies were clear and sunny and only a slight breeze.  Course conditions were very dry and there were only a few players on the course.  Thanks to Steve for bringing the Macho Tacos!

I was a little off today, I started out fine but played inconsistently after the second hole.  I  made bogey on a lot of the easier holes, and I made par on #5, #14 and #16, which are more difficult holes.  I had a birdie chance on #17 but choked the putt.  That's the third time I've choked a birdie putt on that hole.

Steve was a birdie machine with four on the front nine.  Bob made par on #18, I think for the first time.  Something I've never done, I consider a bogey a minor victory.

A total of 11 birdies were made today:  Steve(5), Dave(2), Bob(1), Lif(1), Donald(1) and Heady(1).  No discs lost and two discs found.

Brushy Creek (aka Cat Hollow)

Today we ventured up north to play the Brushy Creek MUD DGC.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Bob, Brian, DD, Keith and Heady.  Skies were mostly sunny, temperatures were in the 80's and a good breeze was blowing.   Course conditions were good and dry and surprisingly there were very few other players on the course.

I played about average today, I got off some good throws and didn't hit too many trees.  I had a couple of really nice drives on #3 and #6, which resulted in tap in birdies.  This was DD's first time on this course and his problem was driving past the baskets.  Twice he came close to an ace only to have his disc sail way past.   He birdied #11, which is something we've never seen before.

A total of 14 birdies were made today:  Keith(4), Steve(3), Heady(2), Brian(2), Lif(1), DD(1) and Bob(1).  Not discs lost and no discs found.
