Circle C

At my request, we had an 8:00AM start at Circle C; I had to drive to San Antonio immediately after the round to visit family.  Today's players were:  Steve, Chris, Keith, Lif and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's, sunny skies and not much wind.  Steve brought Macho Tacos!  Course conditions were fair, the fairways could use a mowing.  There were lots of other players on the course.  We let a group of five play thru, that was a mistake.  We ended up waiting for them on every hole when we played the back nine.

I did not have a very good round, had problems with my accuracy and the trees.  I did have some good drives but then a bad second shot.  Or I had bad drives and could not recover to save par.  Some of my approach shots were a little off, too far off make my putts.  Chris nearly had an Ace on #3,  his disc sailed barely over the basket.  He came close again on #4.  He was able to convert both of them for birdies.  Chris also had a birdie on #17 which is very difficult.

Only four birdies made today:  Chris(3) and Lif(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Brushy Creek - El Gato

We traveled north this morning to play the Brushy Creek (aka Cat Hollow) course in Round Rock.  Today's players were:  Lif, Dave, Chris, Donald, Keith and Heady.   Skies were mostly cloudy, temperatures were in the 80's, humidity was in the 90's and there was hardly any wind.  Course conditions were good and there were lots of other players on the course.

I was able to play the entire round without any pain, so maybe I am past my injury.  I'm not getting the distance I was before but I can work on that.  Otherwise I had a pretty average round.  Chris nearly had an eagle on #10.  His second throw from about 250 feet out bounced off the rim.

Only four birdies made today:  Dave(2), Donald(1) and Chris(1).  No discs lost, I found a Star Corvette in the rough on #10.   The scorecard may not be accurate, if you have any changes let me know.

Steeplechase Park - Kyle

We met up at 8:00AM at Macho Tacos in Manchaca for a filling breakfast then drove down to Kyle to play the Steeplechase course.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Dave, Keith, Chris, Darden and Heady.  It was an overcast day, temperatures were in the 80s, the humidity was in the 90s.  There was no wind at all.  Course conditions were a bit thick and muddy in places, probably from all the rain we've had the past few weeks.  There were only a few other players on the course.

I was able to play without pain in my shoulder, but it was always in the back of my mind.  I never really let loose on my drives but was able to get some decent distance.  My putting was still horrible, I missed six really easy putts.  I just could not control my arm.  I was able make some putts on the back nine after I had warmed up.  Keith is improving every week.  He had a couple of outstanding drives today, just like his old self.  Still he lost power and his grip periodically throughout the round.  Darden was a birdie machine.  He made seven birdies and many of those were not cheap.  He just missed getting a couple more.

A total of seventeen birdies were made:  Darden(7), Steve(4), Lif(2), Chris(2), Dave(1), Keith(1) and Heady(0).  I had a good chance on #12 but choked my putt.  Two discs lost in the murky creek, one disc found in the murky creek.
