Steeplechase Park - Memorial Day Round

 We all had the day off for Memorial Day so we decided to play a bonus round at Steeplechase down in Kyle.  Today's players were:  Steve, Chris, Keith, Lif, Dave and Heady.   Temperatures were around 80 degrees, partly cloudy skies and an occasional breeze.  Course conditions were excellent, it looked like they mowed recently.  There were many other people on the course enjoying the day.

I've been having trouble with my approach shots lately, that used to be my forte.  I had some decent drives but my approach shots were nowhere near the basket. My flicks were not working!  My score would have been worse if not for some clutch putting.  Steve started off on a tear with five birdies on the front nine.  Chris had some really long drives.  Dave had a really good back nine.

There were 15 birdies made today:  Steve(5), Chris(4), Dave(3), Heady(2) and Lif(1).   No discs lost, although Steve tried,  no discs found.

OId Settlers' Park - Round Rock

 It's been a while since we've beaten ourselves up, so it was time to play Old Settlers'.   Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Darden, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's, mostly sunny skies and an occasional breeze.  Course conditions were good, a little slick in some places.  There were many other groups on the course.

I played horribly today, again.  I had no strength or accuracy.  I did manage to make some pretty good putts, I also missed an easy one. This is a difficult course, requiring distance and accuracy.  I lacked those two attributes today!

Only one birdie made today by Steve.  One disc lost by Steve and at least two discs found.

Brushy Creek

 It looked like rain this morning but we stayed dry at Brushy Creek in Round Rock.  Today's players were Steve, Keith, Donald, Lif* and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 70's, skies were overcast and there was no breeze.  Course conditions were good and there were a few people on the course.

I played a about my average today.  I hit my average amount of trees.   I got off to a slow start and was lucky to make par on #1, then made a series of stupid mistakes on the next four holes.

One birdie made by Steve on #15.  Lif had birdie on #11, an eagle on #5 and his first Ace ever on the on #10.  A 498ft throw!

No discs found, one disc lost by Lif on #12, Big Irish, we searched for half an hour.  It must have gone into the vortex.
