Searight

It's been a while since we've played Mary Moore Searight in South Austin.  We had another early 8:00AM start to beat the heat and the crowds.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Keith, Brian, Heady and BOB!  It was good to see Bob again!

This is a relatively easy technical course and we were surprised that they changed things up by reversing the course.  Otherwise, course conditions were good.  It was kind of strange playing it backwards.  This was the least crowded I've ever seen this course.  Only a couple of other small groups playing this morning.

I played alright today, I have a few moments of a lack of concentration but overall I was satisfied with my play.  Steve tore up the course today, crushing the competition.  Bob had the shot of the day on hole #11 (or 8) with a long birdie.  A blind, 130 foot shot that hit the chains with authority! I had an ace run on the next hole.  I thought my drive was going to fly high past the basket, but at the last moment the disc suddenly dropped 10 feet and landed next to the basket.

A total of 13 birdies were made today:  Steve(5), Keith(4), Lif(1), Bob(1), Brian(1) and Heady(1).  No discs lost, one disc found by Brian.
Lif driving on #1.  This is where the #18 basket used to be

Bob still has the touch

  2. Just sold a house that backs up to Searight on Cayuse Cove.
We were so busy we never set foot in the park. I noticed they have an airport in the middle of it. AKA model plane size but from google it looks like a real full size airport.

  3. Its been raining a lot here in San Miguel just like it did during most of the remodel of Cayuse. Just finished a big cigar and saw that great shot of over the stream bed with what looks like a big cigar hazard. Hope the shot was as great as the photo.
