Searight Park

We played Mary Moore Searight Metropolitan Park today for the first time since February.  This is a nice course with mostly short holes, only two par 4's but it is challenging enough for beginners as well as more experienced players.  The course is mostly flat but there are a few holes with elevation changes.  The only drawbacks are that the course is very popular, we had to let several groups play through.  Because it is so popular most of the trails are beat down, the high volume of traffic combined with the drought has taken a toll on the vegetation.

We had a large group today, Lif, Steve, Keith, Bob, Parker, Rob and two new players, James and Derek.   This was Derek's first time playing and he noticeably improved as we played  the course.  Big Dave did not make it today, he is still in China throwing discs off the Great Wall.  Rather warm today, temperatures in the mid 90's, only a slight breeze.  No discs lost, one disc found (Keith).  Lots of birdies:  Parker(3), Keith(2), Bob(1) and Steve(1).

I had an average day today.  It would have been lot better if I could avoid hitting the trees!
