Old Settlers - Saturday Round

Since tomorrow is Mother's Day, we decided to play a Saturday round at the new and improved Old Settlers' Park in Round Rock.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Dave, Keith, Chris and Heady.  We lost Dave after ten holes but picked up another player, Cariss, to take his place.  It was a little cool when we were eating our Macho Tacos, temperatures were in the lower 60's, but it warmed up nicely to the middle 70's by the time we finished.  Cloudy skies gave way to sun and the wind was blowing about 10mph out of the north.  Course conditions were good and there were lots of players on the course.  One large group ahead of us seemed to take forever to throw.  It really broke up our rhythm.

I got off to a slow start and clanked a couple of putts.  Overall I was satisfied with my drives and approach shots.  On the back nine I had a couple of disaster holes which really brought down my score.

Only one birdie made today, by Steve.  No discs lost but two discs found.

  1. I went back and played the first 5 holes over and over, about 5 times. I finally managed a par on the first hole -- it took all five tries. On hole 2, I managed to birdie it three times -- parked one disk under the basket! Could never birdie the 3rd hole, but parred it twice. Hole 4 -- I BIRDIED IT ONCE! 3 pars, and a bogey. Hole 5, 2 pars, three bogeys. No waiting around -- helped a lot with rythym.
