Roy G. Guerrero

Today we played the Roy G. Guerrero disc golf course in east Austin.  This is a relatively new course that the City of Austin created to replace Pease Park.  It is a very long course but surprisingly there are no par 5 holes on the course.  Although several holes could qualify for par 5 status.  The tee pads are the best of any course I've played.  The pads are large, flat and have a nice brick outline around them too.  The course is laid out very well and flows very nicely.  No searching for the next tee pad!  The City of Austin did a very nice job on this course.

The group today consisted of Dave, Bob, Lif, Steve, Keith and myself.  Dave brought the group Cuban Cohiba cigars which he smuggled back from Mexico.  They were very nice!  Weather was perfect, just perfect, temperatures in the mid-70s, mostly cloudy and no wind.  The weather did not help our scores too much, not a birdie was made today.  Steve and Keith had a couple of chances but were not able to convert.  Some of the fairways need to be mowed.  Despite the tall grass, no discs lost and one disc found by Steve.

The Cohiba cigars were destroyed in a series of small fires.

Keith leads us off on hole 1.
