Wong Way Woods - Buda

We met up at Macho Tacos at 8:00 to load up on a good breakfast before taking the short drive to Buda to play the Wong Way Woods course behind Buck's Backyard.  Today's players were:  Chris, Steve, Lif, Dave, Keith, Bob and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's, sunny skies and only a slight breeze.  Course conditions were very dry and dusty.  There was only one other group on the course.

This is a first time course for most of the group.  It's a fun course with mostly short but fair holes.  Many of the baskets are tucked in behind trees for an extra challenge.  I played alright today, could have been better.  My drives were good for the most part.  Some of my approach throws were just a little off or hit a branch.  I did miss about three putts that I should have made.

There were 10 birdies made today:  Steve(3), Chris(2), Heady(2), Lif(2), Dave(1).  No discs found and no discs lost.

Circle C - Equinox - The Last Day of Summer

Today is the last day of summer, a good day to play Circle C.  Today's players were:  Chris, Dave, Darden, Bob, Keith, Steve and Heady.  Lif was there to practice putting and he was impressive.  I want to see him putt when the pressure is on.  Temperatures were in the upper 80's, partly cloudy skies and the wind was not a factor until the back nine.  Course conditions were good and dry.  There were many other players on the course.  We got behind a large, slow group and we allowed many smaller groups to play thru.  Lots of waiting around.  Messing up the rhythm of the game.  Steve had to bail out after 10 holes.

I played pretty good today.  Most of my drives were straight, a few were pretty long.  I made a few mistakes with my approach shots and missed an easy putt.  Chris damn near had an ace on #10.  His drive flew just over the top of the basket and ended up 60 feet past the basket.  He was lucky to make par on the hole.  Chris also had the shot of the day with a 70 foot putt from the rough on #15.

Surprisingly, for such a large group, only two birdies were made today, both by Darden.  There were many other attempts.  Pretty sure Bob had a birdie on #4.  No discs lost and no discs found.

Roy G. Guerrero - The Trees Won

We met up at 8:30 this morning for a fun round of disc golf at the Roy G. Guerrero park.  Today's players were:  Steve, Chris Dave, Darden, Bob, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's, the humidity was high, the sun was shining and a slight breeze was blowing.  Course conditions were very dry.  There were many other players on the course.  We let several groups play thru.

With the exception of Chris, none of us had a very good round.  We all hit our share of trees.  There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth.  I always have a hard time with this course.  My drives were mostly straight but could have been a little longer.  I'm losing strength.  My approach shots were horrible and I missed several putts.  A normal day for me.  Bob had his roller working today!

Only one birdie today, Chris threw it in from 70 feet away on #3.  No discs lost and no discs found.

Darden starts us off!
