Steeplechase Park - Kyle

We headed down south today to play the ever challenging Steeplechase Park course in Kyle.  The players today were:  Steve, Lif, Keith, Dave, Chris, Darden, Bob, Beth and Heady.  Chris left after nine hole to attend to family obligations.  It was a little chilly when we started, temperatures were in the lower 60's and a north wind was blowing about 20mph.  At least the sun was shining.  Course conditions were good, the creek had flowing water and most of us found the water at some point.  There were a fair amount of other players on the course.

I think everyone played a few strokes above their average for this course.  The wind was blowing so strongly it was difficult to get any accuracy.  Putting was an adventure.  I started out alright but made some stupid mistakes on the back nine.  Bob had the shot of the day with an 80 birdie on #17.  Surprisingly, several long putts were made today, despite the wind.

A total of 13 birdies were made:  Bob(3), Darden(3), Steve(2), Dave(2), Lif(1), Keith(1) and Heady(1).  No discs found but a bunch were lost.   At least five in the water and Keith lost a drive over the fence.
