Roy G. Guerrero - Gorgeous Day

It was a gorgeous day for disc golf at the Roy G. Guerrero park on Sunday.  A storm blew thru the previous night and the weather was cool and clear.  Today's players were:  Steve, Chris, Dave, Lif, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 50's, mostly sunny skies and a slight breeze.  Course conditions were fair, a few trees were blown down.  There were many other players on the course, we let several smaller groups play thru and had to wait on a large group in front of us.

No one did exceptionally well today.  I started off making par on the first two holes but only had two more pars after that!  I did make some stupid mistakes and missed a putt or two.  I did have some nice drives and great approach shots, but they were not enough.  This is a very challenging course and many holes require perfect throws.  Avoiding the trees is a challenge.  Four of us finished in a tie for last place!

No birdies were made today.  As a group, we only made par on 25% of the holes!   No discs lost and no discs found.

East Metro Park - Muddy Day

It's been raining the past few days but we were able to squeeze in a round this morning at the East Metro DGC in Manor.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Lif, Chris, Dave and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 70's, cloudy skies, we got sprinkled on a couple of times.  At least the wind wasn't blowing.  Course conditions were very muddy and the vegetation is getting thick.  Especially the poison ivy.  We had the course to ourselves.  Another group pulled up just as we finished.

I played alright today.  My drives weren't too bad and many of my approach shots were dead on, under the basket.  I did blow a putt on #5 but made a couple of putts that I was sure that I was going to miss.  I had a really good front nine but hit too many trees on the back nine.

There were five birdies made today:  Chris(2), Steve(1) and Heady(1).  No discs found and one disc lost, Keith walked off on one.

Circle C - Saturday Round

We played our round at Circle C on Saturday to avoid conflicts with Easter Sunday.  Today's players were:  Steve, Chris, Dave and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 70's, cloudy skies and an occasional breeze.  Course conditions were good.  We were the only players on the course.  We played with a sense of urgency because a strong cold front was expected to arrive by 11am.  We finished with time to spare.

I played about my average  for this course.  I could have done better if  I didn't screw up my approach shots! We all had a disaster hole on #6.

Only four birdies made today:  Chris(2) and Steve(2).  No discs lost or found.
