Williamson County - EID MAR

Beware the Ides of March.  Beware playing Wilco hungover!  We met up at 8:30 at the Williamson County DGC.  Today's players were:  Steve, Chris, Keith, Lif, Dave, Bob and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 70's, mostly cloudy skies and a stiff wind was blowing.  About halfway thru the clouds burned off and the temperatures climbed.  The winds stayed strong.  Course conditions were good and there were several other players on the course.

I was very hungover this morning.  I went out drinking last night and had less than four hours of sleep.  I did not play very well.  I did manage a few good throws but towards the end I lost concentration.  The strong winds and numerous trees did not help.  Lif and Steve were hitting his long putts today!

There were six birdies made today:  Chris(4) and Steve(2).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Steve starts us off!

Sprinkle Valley - Austin Beer Works

We played a new course (new to me anyway) on Sunday, Sprinkle Valley DGC at Austin Beer Works.  Today's players were:  Lif, Chris, Dave, Keith, Bob and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 60's, mostly cloudy skies and a breeze was blowing.  Course conditions were a little muddy in places.  There were several other players on the course.

I like this course.  It has many holes that are heavily wooded but also has a few holes that are wide open.  There is some elevation changes and although there is a creek nearby, water doesn't factor in the play.  The holes are fair and challenging.  I would like to play it again.  After the round we enjoyed some hamburgers and beer!

I didn't play too badly, after warming up on a few holes I had some pretty decent drives and approach shots.  I almost threw my Buzz in from 150 feet for a birdie.  Instead it bounced off the chains, far enough where I ended up with a bogey!  I think if I played this course a few more times I could post a decent score.

There were five birdies made:  Chris(2), Lif(2) and Keith(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Roy G. Guerrero - Another Rough Week

After playing a long, heavily wooded course last week at Old Settlers', we decided to play another at Roy G. Guerrero.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Chris, Keith, Bob and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 60's, mostly sunny skies and the wind was not much of a factor.  Course conditions were good and there were many other players on the course.  Big thanks to Steve for bringing Macho Tacos!

Another tough round.  I had decent front nine, decent for this course.  The back nine I could not get a par.  Too many trees and I lost my touch on my approach shots.  Bob made several remarkably long putts.  Lif was spot on with his approach shots.  Chris had some monster drives.

No birdies made today, although Chris and Steve both had chances.  No discs lost and no discs found.
