Circle C - Wednesday Round

We met up at 2:00 for a round of DG at Circle C.  The players were:  Chris, Dave, Francis and Heady.  Temperatures were in the low 80's, mostly cloudy skies and hardly any breeze.  Course conditions were good and there were a few other players on the course.

I had a decent front nine but the wheels fell off on the back nine.  On #2 my birdie putt hit chains dead center and was spit out!  I noticed a loss of power on the back nine.  I did not make a par on the back nine, I did make one birdie!

There were six birdies made today:  Chris (3), Heady(2) and Dave(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Google's blogger software was being difficult today and would not put all the pictures in order!

John Francis lays up on #3.  Astro approves!

Rob with a birdie on #3

Chris with a behind the back birdie on #10

Chris with a birdie on #13

Dave finishes it up

Chris with a birdie on #17

Cat Hollow

We met up this morning at 8:30 at the Cat Hollow DGC in Round Rock.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Chris, Darden and Heady.  It was a little chilly with temperatures in the 50's and a strong north wind blowing.  At least the sun was shining.  Course conditions were good despite the heavy rains from last night.  There were many other groups on the course.

I made too many stupid mistakes today.  My drives were pretty good for the most part, it was my approach throws and putting that did me in.  I must have missed five putts and I can't blame the wind.  I just missed them!

Only two birdies made today:  Steve(1) and Darden(1).  No discs found and I lost my orange driver on the berm on #4.  I just walked off and left it.

Steve on #1

Dave drives it home on #9

Live Oak Brewery - Wednesday Round

We met up for a Wednesday round at 1:00 at the Live Oak Brewery DCG.  I've never played this course and since it is my first retirement week round we decided to play it.  Today's players were:  Chris, Bob, the McGrath brothers and Heady.  Temperatures were in the low 80's with mostly cloudy skies.  A gentle breeze  was blowing.  We were the only players on the course.

I really like this course!  The holes are varied and fair.  There are elevation changes and majestic oak trees that come into play.  They have also added a few gimmicks on some holes to make it interesting.  The rough is pretty thick in some places, easy to lose a disc.  The course is across the highway from the airport so jets are flying over every two minutes.

About halfway thru I seemed to have forgotten how to throw for a couple of holes and made some terrible shots.  I missed at least three putts, either off the rim or the chains.  I would like to play this course again soon, plus they have cold beer after the round.

There were eight birdies made:  Chris(3), Bob(2), Dave(2) and Heady(1).   At least two discs lost and no discs found.

Bob for birdie on #13

Dave with a birdie

Time for a beer!
