East Metro Park - Muddy Day

It's been raining the past few days but we were able to squeeze in a round this morning at the East Metro DGC in Manor.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Lif, Chris, Dave and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 70's, cloudy skies, we got sprinkled on a couple of times.  At least the wind wasn't blowing.  Course conditions were very muddy and the vegetation is getting thick.  Especially the poison ivy.  We had the course to ourselves.  Another group pulled up just as we finished.

I played alright today.  My drives weren't too bad and many of my approach shots were dead on, under the basket.  I did blow a putt on #5 but made a couple of putts that I was sure that I was going to miss.  I had a really good front nine but hit too many trees on the back nine.

There were five birdies made today:  Chris(2), Steve(1) and Heady(1).  No discs found and one disc lost, Keith walked off on one.

Circle C - Saturday Round

We played our round at Circle C on Saturday to avoid conflicts with Easter Sunday.  Today's players were:  Steve, Chris, Dave and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 70's, cloudy skies and an occasional breeze.  Course conditions were good.  We were the only players on the course.  We played with a sense of urgency because a strong cold front was expected to arrive by 11am.  We finished with time to spare.

I played about my average  for this course.  I could have done better if  I didn't screw up my approach shots! We all had a disaster hole on #6.

Only four birdies made today:  Chris(2) and Steve(2).  No discs lost or found.

Max Starcke Park - Seguin

We met up at 8:00AM at Macho Taco's in Manchaca for a great breakfast before driving down to Seguin to play the verdant Max Starcke park.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Dave, Chris, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 70's, mostly sunny skies and a slight breeze was blowing.  Course condition were good, the leaves on the pecan trees were just starting to come out.  There were a few other players on the course.

I was not happy with my play again.  I didn't play too badly on the front nine but the back nine I had some problems.  My drives were not all that long but they were mostly straight.  I lost my touch on my approach shots on the back nine.  My disc would get caught in the breeze and sail far away from the basket.  Just stupid mistakes.  Lif had a bogey free back nine!  We had four star frames today!

Only four birdies were made today:  Chris(3) and Steve(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
