MetCenter - Early Start

We had an 8:00 start at MetCenter to beat the crowds, and glad we did.   So many courses are closed due to Covid-19 and the courses that are still open get crowded fast.  Especially on calm, cool, dry, sunny days.   Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Bob, Lif, Dave, Chris and Heady.  Course conditions were as perfect as the weather.

Dave had the shot of the day early on the first hole, with a 150 foot birdie toss.  My putting woes continued with at least 6 putts, including two easy birdies, failing every way possible.

A total of 13 birdies were made:  Chris(3), Steve(3), Lif(2), Keith(2), Dave(2) and Bob(1).  Three discs found and two discs lost.

Steeplechase Redux

For the first time in over three years the group decided to play Steeplechase in Kyle.  We really should play this course more.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Bob, Lif, Dave, Chris and Heady.  It rained this morning, so we did not start playing until noon. The clouds cleared out and it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon with temperatures in the 80's and only a slight wind.  There were hardly any other players on the course.

I did not play my best, I was inconsistent all day and I missed at least four easy putts.  Steve had the shot of the day with an 100 foot toss on #5 for an eagle.

There were 12 birdies made:  Steve(3), Bob(2), Keith(2), Lif(2), Chris(1), Dave(1) and Heady(1).  One eagle made: Steve(1).  Two discs lost, Chris and Steve on #4

Steeplechase - Birthday Round

In celebration of my 59th trip around the sun, Keith and I played a late afternoon round at Steeplechase in Kyle.  This is a course that the group doesn't play very often but Keith and I thought it was a challenging course.  It is mostly flat and there is a small creek that comes into play on most of the holes.  Plenty of trees to keep it interesting.  One problem with the course is that there are lots of pedestrians walking around.  Also, the course itself was full of players, probably because most of the courses around town are closed.

Keith had a pretty good game with three birdies.  We both missed putts because of the wind, Keith lost a putter after it rolled into the creek.  However, Keith did make several long putts, despite the wind.
