Northtown

We had a large group today, ten players, at the North Town disc golf course:  Lif, Dave, Steve, Bob, Keith, Micah, Burko, James, Brian and me.  Weather was overcast and a little breezy when we started but the clouds burned off and it turned into a warm, sunny day.  This was the second time the group has played this course and it is quickly becoming one of our favorites.

Two eagles today:  Mike(1) and Lif(1) on the par 5 #11.  Sixteen birdies were made today:  Steve(3),  Keith(3), Micah(3), Mike(2), Lif (1), Rob(1), Dave(1), Bob(1) and Brian(1).  Steve almost had another ace today on #12.  His drive skipped off the top of the basket.  No discs found, three discs lost:  Rob(1), Dave(1) and Burko(1).  All of these were lost on the treacherous hole #12.

MetCenter - Easter Sunday

Today was Easter Sunday and we played the MetCenter near the airport.  I've always liked this course.  Today we had a large group: Lif, Dave, Steve, Bob, Burko, Brian, James and me.  Keith was sick and could not play today.  This was James' first time to play disc golf and he did not do too badly.  With a little practice, I think he will be able to get some distance on his drives.  The weather today was cloudy, temperatures were in the mid 70's and only a slight breeze.  Dave and James had to bail out after 12 holes to tend to other obligations.

The little creek came into play several times today.  Burko, Lif and Steve all found the water at some point.  Kudos to Bob for getting his feet wet to retrieve Burko's disc on the fourth hole.  The karma gods rewarded Bob with a birdie on that hole.  Lif lost his disc to the dirty water on the ninth hole.  After an extended search, Steve was able to recover his disc on the eleventh hole.  Steve had another close encounter with a hole in one on number 16.  His drive was heading straight for the basket but the wind pushed it over at the last moment.

I played all right today.  I did not miss any easy putts but my approach shots on a couple of holes could have been better.  I had some trouble with the trees on 17 and 18.  I was able to make par on the long par 5 number 10.  That's the first time I've done that!

A total of five birdies were made today:  Lif(2), Steve(1), Mike(1) and Bob(1).  No discs found, one disc lost, Lif, on number 9.
