MetCenter - Warm Day

We played the MetCenter this morning, an 8:30 start.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Chris, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's when we started and they climbed quickly.  Skies were mostly sunny and there was not really any wind.   Course conditions were fair, mostly dry, but it could use a mowing in places.  There were a fair amount of other players on the course.   We played the back nine first to avoid playing behind a large group.

I played about my average for this course.  I was the only player who did not record a birdie, although I had a couple of chances.  Lif had a good game with great approach throws that led to three birdies.  One birdie, on #16, was the shot of the day from about 110 feet out.

A total of eight birdies were made today:  Lif(3), Combs(2), Dave(1), Chris(1) and Keith(1).  I think there were three discs found, no discs lost, thanks to Chris who, after we finished, fished Steve's disc out of the creek.

North Town - Pflugerville

It was a warm and windy day to play at North Town.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Darden, Donald and Keith.   Chris and I did not play due to a death in the family.  Looks like Steve ran away with it today, ending up only one over par.  With an impressive eagle on #11 and a birdie on #16.

In addition to Steve's eagle, there were six birdies made:  Darden(2), Steve(1), Big Dave(1), Lif(1) and Donald(1).  No discs found and one disc lost by Big Dave in the pond on #12.  I'm sure the wind had something to do with it.

Roy G. - Hot Day and a Long Course

We chose the longest course in Austin to play on the hottest day of the year.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Donald, Darden, Bob (yes Bob!) and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's when we started and well into the 90's when we finished.  Course conditions were fair and there were a lot of other players on the course.

I did not score very well today, this is a tough course and I was missing my fine touch on approach shots.  My putting was still way off, I missed several easy putts.  Even if I had made all my putts, I would still be 20+ over.  Steve had the shot of the day with a 250 foot birdie on #5.  Nothing but basket!   Keith had a rough day, his grip was really bothering him and we really should not have recorded a score for him.  He toughed it out and played through it.  Good to see Bob again!

Only one birdie made today, Steve on #6.  Nobody else even came close.  No discs lost and no discs found.

Darden starts us off!

Circle C

At my request, we had an 8:00AM start at Circle C; I had to drive to San Antonio immediately after the round to visit family.  Today's players were:  Steve, Chris, Keith, Lif and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's, sunny skies and not much wind.  Steve brought Macho Tacos!  Course conditions were fair, the fairways could use a mowing.  There were lots of other players on the course.  We let a group of five play thru, that was a mistake.  We ended up waiting for them on every hole when we played the back nine.

I did not have a very good round, had problems with my accuracy and the trees.  I did have some good drives but then a bad second shot.  Or I had bad drives and could not recover to save par.  Some of my approach shots were a little off, too far off make my putts.  Chris nearly had an Ace on #3,  his disc sailed barely over the basket.  He came close again on #4.  He was able to convert both of them for birdies.  Chris also had a birdie on #17 which is very difficult.

Only four birdies made today:  Chris(3) and Lif(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
