Flying Armadillo - San Marcos

After a hearty breakfast at Macho Taco, we ventured south to San Marcos to play the Flying Armadillo.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Bob, Lif and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's, mostly cloudy skies, no wind at all and very humid.  Course conditions were great, they are always making improvements at the course.

We warmed up by playing the short course first.  Lif and Bob both scored Ace's.  We all had  a good time.  The long course proved to be more of challenge, although Keith had a great round ending up even for the round.

A total of 10 birdies were made:  Keith(4), Steve(2), Bob(2), Lif(1) and Heady(1).  No discs found, one disc lost by Lif into the vortex on #12.

Zilker Park - Mother's Day - Let's Play Two

It has been over a year since we've played Zilker, and that's too long, so we played it twice.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Lif, Dave and Rob.  Weather conditions were ideal,  temperatures in the low 70's, mostly sunny skies and only a little wind.  Course conditions were a little muddy and there was standing water on some holes.  The fairways were mowed but the rough was overgrown with beggar's lice and weeds.  There were only a few other players when we started at 8:30 but there were many more people playing by the time we finished.

I had some good drives today but my approach shots, usually my strength, were a bit off.  Keith had the shot of the day with a 90 foot laser birdie shot on #10.  Good thing it hit the chains because it was coming in hot.

There were a total of 13 birdies today:  Keith(5),  Steve(5),  Lif(2) and Heady(1).
No discs lost, one disc found by me, laying in the open ground between #2 and #3.

Circle C - Cinco de Maya

It was a perfect day to play disc golf at the Circle C Metro Park.  Today's players were:  Steve, Bob, Lif, Dave, Keith and Heady.  The weather was perfect, the temperature was in the low 70's, partly cloudy skies, and no wind to speak of.  The course was a little muddy from all the rain we received this week.  There were lots of other players on the course including a very slow group of seven we got behind on the back nine.

None of us played exceptionally well today.  I had a hard time getting my drives going and I missed several putts, including three missed birdies.  I had a couple of really nice drives on #11 and #12, but wound up with a bogey on each of them.  The slow group we got behind really messed up our rhythm.  They were playing off the long tees and they really should not have been.

Only one birdie was made today and that was mine on #8.  I had a real low drive but somehow it snuck up close enough to give me a shot.  No discs lost.  Not sure if Keith found one on #18
