Schlather Park, Cibolo TX

After a hearty lunch at Catalano's Pizzeria in downtown Cibolo we played our second round at Schlather Park.  The clouds thinned out from this morning but the wind really picked up.  This course is located inside a neighborhood park, so you have to be careful with people walking around.  Also, there are homes located along some of the fairways, we saw a couple of discs on the roofs.  I was afraid one of my throws would get caught up in the wind and crash through a window.

This course if pretty wide open, there are some trees to contend with in a few spots.  One hole has a pond you have to throw across, there are tree limbs that extend over the pond and it looks like a good place to lose a disc.  This is fun course to play if you are in the area but I would not make a special trip to play it again.

Despite the wind we still managed to score five birdies:  Steve(1), Keith(1), Mark(1), Brian(1) and Bob(1).

Live Oak - Hill Course, Live Oak, TX

After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast we played the Live Oak - Hill Course in Live Oak.  The third week of March is a magical time in the Texas Hill Country.  Temperatures are mild, the soil is moist and all the trees and wildflowers are blooming.  This is the first time we played this course and we all agreed that we need to play it again.  This is a John Houck designed course and it is evident by the picturesque fairway selections and variety of hole lengths.

We all had a little trouble with this course but I think if we play it a few times we can improve our scores dramatically.

Only six birdies were made:  Steve(3), Bob(1), Brian(1) and Keith(1).

Flying Armadillo - Big Course - Last Course

After a lunch break at Schlotzsky's in San Marcos, we played our final course at the Flying Armadillo - Big Course.  This is such a beautiful and challenging course and is one of our favorites.  DaveD drove down to meet us.  The clouds broke up in the afternoon and the sun really heated things up.  Big Dave had evening obligations so he bailed out after nine holes.  We all had a great time Dave!

I finally got my mojo working again and had a halfway decent round.  A total of five birdies were made:  Heady(2), Steve(1), Bob(1) and Brian(1).
