Old Settlers - Rough Round

We met up at 8:30 in Round Rock at Old Settlers Park.  Today's players were:  Chris, Keith, Darden, Lif, Dave and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's, skies were mostly sunny, there was a breeze but it was not a factor.  Course conditions were good.  Mosquito repellent is mandatory!  There were a few other groups on the course.  Thanks to Big Dave for bringing the Cuban cigars!

None of us had a stellar round.  Lif had the least bad score.  I played alright for not playing in two weeks.  My throws had some more power behind them, my heart is pumping blood better.  I did miss three easy putts on the front nine.

Only one birdie made today and that was by Chris.  I think we had one disc lost (Lif), no discs found.

MetCenter - Bastille Day - I did not play

The group met up this morning for a Bastille Day round of disc golf.  Liberty, Equality, Fraternity! Today's players were:  Steve, Big Dave, Donald, Chris, Bob, Darden and Keith.  I could not play due to a medical condition.  Lif was at a family brunch.  It was a cool day for July with temperatures in the 80's.  A mostly cloudy sky and manageable winds.  Chris took some photos.

There were 11 birdies made:  Chris(3), Donald(2), Steve(2), Bob(2), Big Dave(1) and Darden(1).

Roy G. Guerrero

We met up at Roy G. at 8:30 for an exciting round of disc golf.  Today's players were:  Steve, Mark, Chris, Keith and Heady.  Mark hasn't played the new Roy G. layout.  Temperatures were in the low 80's when we started and went up after that.  Mostly cloudy skies and the winds were calm.  We had some rain last night so the course was a little damp and very humid.  There were many other groups on the course.

I played a little better than my average for this course.  My drives weren't that great but my approach shots were spot on.  Putting was not a factor.

Only one birdie made today by Chris on the last hole.  No discs lost and no discs found.

Circle C - Independence Day

We met up early, 8:00 AM, at Circle C for a hot Fourth of July round.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Keith, Bob, Mark and Heady.  It was good to see Mark again.  Temperatures were in the low 80's when we started, skies were sunny and winds were calm.   Course conditions were good and dry.  There were a lot of other groups on the course.

I think the entire group played a little below their averages today.  Mark had some massive drives, throwing past the basket on #9 and way past the basket on #13.  Bob had to bail out after hole #10.  The shot of the day was by a player in the group behind us on #10.  We were on the fairway and let them play through.  One of them threw a laser down the hill, right into the basket.  His first ace!

Only four birdies made today:  Mark(2), Steve(1) and Lif(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
