East Metro Park - Beware The Ides of March

We went east today to play the East Metro Park in Manor.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Bob, Lif, Dave, Chris and Heady.  It was a little chilly with temperatures around 60 degrees.  Because of the cloudy skies and north breeze it did not warm up at all.  We even got sprinkled on a few times.  Course conditions were good, everything greened up and is blooming.  There were a few other groups on the course.

This course is very unforgiving, one bad throw leads to another.  I made way too many stupid mistakes today.  I had some good throws and then would follow them up with something terrible.  I blaming it on my cold, wet hands.  I missed a few putts but always made my follow-up anger putts.  Most of my pars were because of outstanding (or lucky) throws after a lousy drive.  Everyone had problems with the rough.  Almost everyone had at least one disaster hole.  Bob had some very nice approach shots today and Chris is really getting some distance on his flicks.

Only four birdies were made today:  Steve(2), Keith(1) and Bob(1).  No discs lost, thankfully.  Two discs found, both by Lif.

Circle C

It was a cool morning at Circle C for a round of disc golf.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Bob, Lif, Dave, Chris and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 50's, cloudy skies and only a slight breeze.  Course conditions were dry.

I had one of my best drives ever on hole #1 and then things went south from there.   I had a few poor drives and my fairway shots really brought me down.  A couple of holes turned into disasters.

A total of nine birdies were made today:  Steve(3), Keith(2), Dave(1), Chris(1), Bob(1) and Rob(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Lif starts us off.

Austin Ridge Bible Church

Since Chris has never played Austin Ridge Bible Church, we thought we should show him what he's been missing.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Bob, Chris, Dave, Lif and Heady.  Temperatures were in the upper 60's when we started, cloudy skies and a persistent breeze.  Course conditions were fair, a little overgrown in places.  There were several other groups on the course today, some of them were pretty good.

I played about average today, I had some really good drives, almost an ace on hole 7, but my approach shots and putting were inconsistent.  Because this was the first time for Chris, we played the Bonus Holes.  Let's hope we don't have to do that again for a while.  Since holes 13 and 14 were closed for construction, we played holes 1 thru 3 a second time and used the best values of those scores.  I cannot attest to the accuracy of all it.

Only three birdies were made today:  Steve(1), Dave(1) and Lif(1).  At least one disc found and one disc lost.
