Roy G. Guerrero

Today we played the ever difficult Roy G. Guerrero course in East Austin.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Bob, DD, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the lower 80's, but it was very humid from the recent rains.  Skies were cloudy when we started but those burned off after about 5 holes.  There was no wind at all.   Course conditions were a little messy, there was a bit of growth on the fairways and it was a little muddy in places.

I threw pretty well today, several of my drives had some pretty good distance and I kept it in the fairway for the most part.  One of my lower scores for this course.  I missed a couple of putts that I probably should have made.  Dave had the shot of the day, and the only birdie of the day.  A 75 foot putt on #9.

No discs lost but Steve found one on the edge of the #11 fairway.

Circle C - Independence Day

We took advantage of the Wednesday holiday to play Circle C.  Steve, Keith and I met up with Donald and his friends from National Instruments for a morning round.  There were a total of 11 of us, so it took over three hours to play.  Temperatures were in the 90's, skies were partly cloudy and there was no breeze to speak of.  Course conditions were dry and there were a lot of other players on the course.  We must have let a dozen groups play through.

It was difficult to get a rhythm going with such a large group.  I did not play badly but it was not my best game.  Steve also had problems with the long play.  Steve did manage to get two birdies, Keith and I had none.   No discs lost and no discs found.

Wilco - Hot Day - Lousy Play

We took a trip up north to play Williamson County Disc Golf Course.  We started out with some Macho Tacos and washing them down with some mimosas to celebrate Bob's engagement.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Bob, Brian, Keith and Heady. Temperatures were in the upper 80's, a little breezy and the skies were hazy with African sand.  Course conditions were very dry.  There were a few other large groups on the course, Donald was playing in a group behind us.

Everyone had a bad day today.  We all had problems with the trees and the wind.  I started out poorly but picked it up a little in on the back nine.  I guess I was a little rusty.  My drives were all over the place, launched in the air or straight into the dirt.  I did manage to get some very nice throws on the back nine.  I missed two putts that I really should have made, one was for a birdie.

Only four birdies were made today:  Keith(2), Steve(1) and Heady(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
