Williamson County DGC

We've had terrible disc golf weather in Austin for the past two weeks, today we caught a break and played up north at Wilco.  The weather was perfect today, sunny skies, no wind and temperatures in the sixties.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Keith, Brian, Lif, Bob and Rob.  Course conditions were good, it was not muddy but there was a lot of litter.  There were other players on the course but I would not call it crowded.

We were all a bit rusty today and it took a few holes to get back on track.  We all hit a few trees on the first three holes.  I was satisfied with my play today.  The pain in my shoulder and forearm was not bothering me very much.  I had some good approach shots and made all of the putts that I should have made.  I had nice string of five pars on the front nine.  My drives were not as long and some went into the rough.

A total of four birdies were made today, three on the same hole:  Steve(1), Keith(1), Lif(1) and Rob(1).  No discs lost.  One disc found by Bob on #9, a real nice Buzz!

Thanks to Bob for taking most of the photographs today.

Circle C - Second Game of the Year

Today the entire group played Circle C, we were going to play Metcenter but the recent rains probably turned that course into a quagmire, so we made a last minute change.  Today's group comprised of: Steve, Keith, Mark, Bob, Dave, Brian, Lif and Rob.  Lif brought his daughter, Jenna, and his new puppy, Roscoe.  Lif had to leave after 14 holes so he is not on the scorecard. He did score a birdie on #4.

It was a quite a bit colder today than it was yesterday.  Temperatures were in low 40's and a brisk wind was blowing in from the north.  At least the sun was shining.  The water had receded a little bit from yesterday but the course was still very muddy.

Keith scored two strokes better than yesterday.  Steve, Mark and I scored considerably worse than yesterday.  I am blaming the wind, cold and heavy clothing.  We all had problems with the wind today.

A total of five birdies were made today:  Rob(2), Steve(1), Keith(1) and Mark(1).  No discs lost but four discs found.  Two by Bob, one by Steve and one by Mark.  I think they were all pretty much laying out in the open.

Circle C - First Game of the Year

Today was the first sunny day of the new year, so Steve, Mark, Keith and I played Circle C.  It turned out to be a nice day, temperatures climbed to near 60 degrees, bright sunshine and little wind.  The gate to the park was locked so we had to park near the eighteenth hole and go around the gate.  We had a thunderstorm last night and the course was very muddy.  The muddiest I've ever seen it.

I played below my average today, but not by much.  I had a decent front nine but fell apart on the back nine.  Keith had bad front nine but picked it up on the back nine.  We ended up tied for the day.  Steve and Mark both had pretty good game.  Steve made birdies on two of hardest holes on the course, number 5 and number 16.  Mark's game has really gotten stronger since the last time I've seen him.  He had one of the best drives I've ever seen on #6 and almost made a birdie on #11.

A total of eight birdies were made today:  Steve(3), Mark(3) and Heady(2).  No eagles today.  No discs lost, no discs found.  I would have taken more pictures but my camera had problems.  It works okay now.

It was very muddy today.  Path to #4.

Mark on the #4 tee.

Steve with a birdie on #5.  Impressive!
