Northtown

We met up this morning in Plugerville at the Northtown Disc Golf Course.  Today's players were:  Lif, Chris, Keith and Heady.  Steve was there to get some exercise and take score.  Temperatures were in the 80's, sunny skies and no wind to speak of.   Course conditions were very dry, we need rain badly.  There were lots of other players on the course, we started on hole 10 to get around some large groups.  There was a Donald sighting.

I played pretty well today, one of the lowest scores for me on this course in a long time.  If not for a few bad throws it could have been much better.   It took a few throws to get my arm loose, then I was able to snap off some nice drive.  My approach shots were my problem again and there were a lot of trees to contend with.

There were four birdies made today:  Lif(1), Chris(1), Keith(1) and Heady(1).  Chris made an Eagle on the par 5 #11.  He had a very nice drive and great second shot and a long putt.  No disc lost and two discs found, both DX Leopards!

MetCenter - Beautiful Fall Day

Lif, Dave and Keith met Steve at Macho Tacos before heading over to meet me at the MetCenter.  Steve was out for the exercise and he kept score for us.  Weather conditions were perfect.  Temperatures in the 70's, sunny skies and a slight breeze that did pick up a little.  Course conditions were extremely dry, the creek had no water at all.  There were many other players on the course.

I had a decent round, I am getting a lot more distance on my drives and they are going straight for the most part.  My control was a little off and I hit a few trees.  I didn't have the fine touch on my approach shots.  I made some long putts and missed a couple off the ring.  One putt was a stupid miss.  Lif and Dave both had some long drives.  Keith had a great drive on on #10, parking his disc under the basket.  Both Keith and Lif had some problems with the putter today.  Dave had an impressive round, finishing it with a string of 11 pars!

There were four birdies made:  Keith(2) and Heady(2).  No discs lost, Steve found one but the owner retrieved it.

Carlsbad

Chris and I played a round at the Carlsbad DGC in Carlsbad, New Mexico.  Interesting course, mostly open spaces with a few challenges, water came into play.  There was a distinct odor of raw sewage on the first couple of holes.  We encountered a homeless person on the back nine.  He didn't like my drive, so he gave my disc a toss.  The other problem we had was families in fairway, enjoying the park.

The course was in pretty good shape, they were hosting a major tournament on the weekend, so we were lucky to play it when we did.  I played horribly, I just couldn't get it going.  Chris had a decent round.

No birdies were made.  We almost lost our discs in the water on #14 but we were able to recover them and find two more!

Circle C - Macho Tacos

We met up at 8:00 in Manchaca at Macho Taco to have breakfast with Steve before heading over to Circle C.  Steve looked good!  Today's players were:  Chris, Lif, Dave, Donald, Darden, Keith and Heady.  The weather was perfect, temperatures in the 80's, sunny skies and only a slight breeze.  Course condition were very dry, we haven't had rain for about a month.  There were many other players on the course.

I had a pretty good day, it's been a long time since I've scored this well on this course.  The key is to avoid the trees!  My drives were average but in the fairway, my approach shots were close enough and I only missed one long putt.   Lif played well after a two week absence.

There were eight birdies made today:  Darden(3), Chris(2), Donald(2) and Heady(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
