We met up for a Wednesday round at 1:00 at the Live Oak Brewery DCG. I've never played this course and since it is my first retirement week round we decided to play it. Today's players were: Chris, Bob, the McGrath brothers and Heady. Temperatures were in the low 80's with mostly cloudy skies. A gentle breeze was blowing. We were the only players on the course.
I really like this course! The holes are varied and fair. There are elevation changes and majestic oak trees that come into play. They have also added a few gimmicks on some holes to make it interesting. The rough is pretty thick in some places, easy to lose a disc. The course is across the highway from the airport so jets are flying over every two minutes.
About halfway thru I seemed to have forgotten how to throw for a couple of holes and made some terrible shots. I missed at least three putts, either off the rim or the chains. I would like to play this course again soon, plus they have cold beer after the round. There were eight birdies made: Chris(3), Bob(2), Dave(2) and Heady(1). At least two discs lost and no discs found.
