MetCenter - Beautiful Day

We were blessed with a beautiful day to play disc golf at the MetCenter.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Chris, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 40's when we started but it warmed up quickly to the mid 60's.  Not a cloud in the sky and the winds were calm.  Course conditions were a little more squishy than usual.  We pretty much had the course to ourselves.

Lif had a very good round with two long birdies on #8 and #18.  I didn't have my distance today nor my touch.

There were ten birdies made today:  Chris(4), Steve(2), Lif(2), Dave(1) and Keith(1).   No discs found and as of this writing, three discs sleep with the fishes in the pond on hole #14.

Steeplechase Park - Another Cold Day

 We met up this morning at 8:00am at Macho Tacos in Manchaca for Migas and coffee before heading south to play Steeplechase Park in Kyle.  Today's players were:  Steve, Chris, Dave, Keith and Heady.  It was cold, with temperatures in the 30's, gray skies and fortunately only a slight wind.  The rain stayed away although there was some mist.  Course conditions were good, the creek had water.  There were only a couple of other groups on the course.

I had a decent round, I got some distance on my throws, my approach shots could have been a little better.  I had the shot of the day with a 90 foot flick of Nick Mata that smashed the chains for a birdie on #2.  I also had a 30+ foot birdie on #15.  Keith had some really good throws today, looks like he is getting his distance and accuracy back.  The suction cup sticks came in handy today!

There were 13 birdies today:  Steve(4), Heady(3), Keith(3), Chris(2) and Dave(1).  There were also three 'top shelf' putts!  No discs lost and 2 or 3 discs found.

Circle C - Cold Saturday Round

 Since tomorrow is forecast to be super cold, we played a Saturday round at Circle C in the normal cold.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 30's when we started, but warmed up to the 50's.  Sunny skies and an occasional breeze was blowing.  Course conditions were good and there were very few other players on the course.  Thanks to Steve for bringing the Macho Tacos and thanks to Lif for buying them!!

Everyone had a less than stellar performance today.  I'll chalk it up to the cold temperatures and extra clothing.  My drives were average but my fairway drives let me down on multiple occasions.  Big Dave had the shot of the day with a 90 foot birdie on #10.

Only two birdies were made today:  Lif(1) and Dave(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
