Circle C - First Full Day of Autumn

It's been a couple of months since we've played Circle C, so we thought today would be a good day for it.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Dave, Chris, Keith and Heady.  It was a warm day, with temperatures in the upper 80's, sunny skies and a 10mph breeze.  Course conditions were good but dry.  There were lots of other players on the course.  Chris and I have been on vacation for two weeks so it was good to see everyone again.

I played about my average for this course.  I either had perfect throws or really bad ones.  I can't believe I made a double bogey on #4 but I did make par on #5!  Chris started very hot with birdies on the first three holes.  He ended up with an impressive score of -2.

There were seven birdies made today:  Chris(4), Lif(2) and Heady(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Big Dave starts us off!

Cougar Point - Sonora CA

Chris and I were in the California mountains last week and we got in a round at the Cougar Point DGC.  It was a warm, sunny day, with temperatures in the upper 80's and low humidity.  There was only a slight breeze.  Course conditions were fair, lots of Foxtail grass.  The sharp little spears got all in my socks and shoes.  We were the only players on the course, in fact, we were the only people in the park!

This was an fun course but it could have some improvements.  Tee pads were either dirt or thick plastic.  Navigating the course was a challenge, we played the wrong basket once.  The tall grass made it difficult to find your discs.  I only brought two discs and a putter.  One disc was yellow and the other was orange.  It made it kind of hard to find sometimes.  The course is mostly open with enough trees to keep in interesting.  There were some elevation changes but no water hazards.

Only one birdie made, by me!  No discs lost and no discs found.

I got a birdie on #3

Roy G. - Hot and Dry

We met up at 8:30 this morning or another crack at the newly redesigned Roy G. Guerrero.  Today's players were:  Steve, Big Dave, Darden, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 90's, sunny skies and only a slight breeze.  Course conditions were extremely dry.  We really need a lot of rain soon or a lot of trees are going to die.  There were many other groups on the course.

I scored the same as last time we played here.  My drives were not all that strong and my approach shots were a little short.  I missed a few key putts.  I did figure out my drives on the back nine and got some decent distance.  I think I could shave of 5 or 6 strokes on this course after we play it a few more times.

Only one birdie made today by Darden on #16 (see video).  No discs lost and no discs found.
