MetCenter

It was a beautiful spring morning for a round of disc golf at the MetCenter.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Darden, Mike and Heady.  Temperatures were in the upper 60's when we started, mostly cloudy skies and calm winds.  Course conditions were excellent and the course was not crowded.

I played about my average today, I'm not getting a lot of power but I kept it in the fairway most of the day.  Most of my approach shots were close enough and I did not miss any putts.  I even made a few putts that I usually miss.  Darden damn near had an ace on #10.  He threw a laser that bounced off the front of the basket, it needed to be about four inches higher.  Steve would have had two more birdies but one bounced off the chains and one off the rim.  Darden also had birdie attempt bounce off the chains.

There were five birdies today:  Steve(2), Darden(2) and Heady(1).  No discs lost and one disc found by Steve on #18, stuck in the mud.  A Sidewinder, just like my favorite disc that I split last week.  Steve was gracious and let me have it.

Austin Ridge Bible Church - Last Day of Winter

We met up at 8:30 at the Church for a quick breakfast of Macho Tacos that Steve brought.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Dave (back from the Indian subcontinent) and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 40's when we started, skies were mostly cloudy but cleared out by the time we finished.  The winds were calm.  Course conditions were fair, there was a lot of damage to the trees from the ice storm last month.  We pretty much had the course to ourselves.  Happy #61 Birthday Lif!

I started out well with back to back pars and then was quickly humbled by the course.  I hit too many trees and missed too many putts.  I did finish strong with a 75 foot flick to save bogey.  Nobody really tore up the course today.

No birdies were made today, Lif had a good look on #7 and Dave had a good chance on #18.  Both putts bounced off the chains.  No discs found and no discs lost.  I did split one of my favorite discs, my blue/green Sidewinder, on my drive on #15.  It must have hit the tree just right because I can't throw it hard enough to split a disc!
