We have not played for two weeks because of the worst winter weather ever recorded in Austin. We had seven days of below freezing temperatures and five weather systems that dropped over seven inches of snow with rounds of ice and sleet. It was good to see the sun and play some disc golf at Circle C. Chris and Lif played yesterday at North Town and the pond still had ice covering it (see pictures at the end). Today's players were: Steve, Chris, Lif and Heady. Temperatures were a pleasant, in the 60's. Mostly sunny skies and an intermittent breeze. Course conditions were fair, lots of mud from the thawing snow. Several trees were down, including one across the #3 fairway. A fair amount of other players were on the course.
I started off poorly with bogies on four of the first five holes. The muddy conditions made for some slippery footwork. I took a tumble with my approach shot on #1, my heel caught on a piece for rebar and I went down. Luckily I was not injured, my head just missed a stump. After the slow start I recovered and ended up with a decent score. I was able to snap off some long, accurate fairway throws and hit some clutch putts.
Only two birdies were made today: Chris(1) and Steve (1). No discs lost or found.
