Brushy Creek (aka Cat Hollow)

City of Austin course are still closed, so we ventured up north to play Brushy Creek in Round Rock.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Bob, Lif, Chris, Dave and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's with mostly cloudy skies, and some occasional light drizzle from the outer bands of hurricane Hanna.  Course conditions were good and the course was full of players.

I had another below average week.  I had a few disaster holes and missed a few putts.  Too many of my drives found the rough or landed behind trees.  Keith had good round despite missing about seven putts, many for birdie.

A total of eight birdies were made:  Keith(3), Dave(2), Steve(1), Chris(1) and Heady(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Steeplechase Park - Kyle

The COVID-19 shutdown had us playing in Kyle this week at the Steeplechase DGC.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Dave, Keith, Chris and Heady.  Skies were mostly sunny and temperatures were in the 80's.  Not as hot as the past couple if weeks.  There was hardly any wind.  Course conditions were good and the course was very busy.  I almost could not find a parking place at 8:30.

I played alright today, better than I usually play on this course, could have been better if I made a couple of more putts.  Overall as a group we did pretty well.  Lif had neck and shoulder tightness again on the last few holes that hurt his game.  Chris had some really good distance on his flicks today!

A total of 12 birdies were made today:  Keith(5), Steve(4), Heady(2) and Chris(1).  Steve had a couple of more birdie chances but missed his putts (probably because I was taking video).   Three discs found (one before we started) and three discs lost.  One Ed Correa baseball card found.  That is the third time we've found his card on a disc golf course!

Austin Ridge Bible Church - Another Hot One!

Course choices were limited again this week because many course are still closed due to Covid-19.   But the Austin Ridge Bible Church was still open!   Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Chris, Bob, Lif, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the low 80's when we started and in the mid 90's when we finished.  Skies were clear and sunny and hardly any wind.  Course conditions were dry and dusty, a little overgrown in some places.  There was a good number of other players on the course.

I overslept this morning, waking up ten minutes before we were supposed to tee off.  I grabbed my gear and my beer and was able to catch the group when they were just finishing the first hole.  I got off to a slow start with some horrible throws.  I settled down and had a decent back nine, would have been better if I had not blown five putts.   Steve a very good back nine and had round, he likes the Church!

A total of seven birdies were made:  Chris(2), Dave(2),  Heady(2) and Keith(1).  No discs lost, Bob almost lost his drive in the pond on #18.  One disc found and returned.
