Zilker Park - Been a long time...

It's been a long time since we've played Zilker park, so today we decided to play it twice.  ACL is starting next weekend so we thought we might as well play it now before it is closed for the next month.  Today's players were:  Steve, Bob, Keith, Lif, Allen (Lif's friend) and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's, humidity was in the 90's.  The skies were mostly cloudy (we did get a very quick shower), the winds were dead calm until the back nine when they picked up considerably.  Surprisingly, there weren't that many other players on the course.

I played very well this week, the week off must have been good for me.  I had a few good drives, my flicks were really flying well on the first round.  My approach shots were close enough and my putts were dropping.  The second round I started getting a little tired and my strength and accuracy diminished.

Lots of birdies today, we had 16 in the first round and seven in the second round.  No discs lost but Allen found one on #5.

North Town - Lif Solo Round

Lif played hooky last Friday to get a round in a North Town.  He had a pretty good round with three birdies.

What concentration!

Roy G. Guerrero - I did not play

Thankfully, I was in Florida this week when the group played Roy G. Guerrero.  The scores looked pretty mediocre, nobody had a good day.  No birdies were made and relatively few pars.

Brushy Creek (aka Cat Hollow)

We started early at Brushy Creek with a hearty breakfast of Macho Tacos.  Thanks to Steve for picking them up.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Bob, Lif, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the upper 70's when we started but it heated up quickly.  Sunny skies ruled and there was almost no wind (which is unusual for Brushy Creek).  Course conditions were very dry but otherwise good.  There were several other players on the course.

As a group we all did pretty well, all of us scored in single digits.  I was not getting much on my drives and my approach shots were a little off.  Fortunately, my putting was spot on.  I only missed one putt and that one hit the pole and bounced out.  A similar thing happened to Steve and it happened to Lif twice.  The baskets must be jinxed.

Only five birdies were made:  Keith(3) and Bob(2).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Circle C

A nice warm day for a round at Circle C.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Keith, Bob, Dave and Heady.  Mostly sunny skies, temperatures were in the upper 80's and the wind was not a factor.  Course conditions were very dry and they had done some mowing and maintenance.  There were a few other players on the course.

I started off badly on the front nine but I picked it up a little on the back nine.  I could not find my drive until about the 11th hole.  My approach shots were inconsistent and my putting still needs work.  I did not record a birdie.   I can play this course much better than I did today.  Only Dave and Steve had nice rounds, the rest of us were pretty mediocre.

Only four birdies were made today:  Steve(2), Dave(1) and Keith(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
