Wilco

We ventured up north to Leander to play the Williamson County disc golf course.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Keith, Bob and Heady.  Weather conditions were ideal.  The temperatures were in the 70's, it was cloudy when we started but the clouds burned off by the fifth hole.  There was a breeze that came into play from time to time.  Course condition were very good.  There were lots of other players on the course today, we just got ahead of a very large group.  Thanks to Steve for the Macho Tacos.

This is a very unforgiving course with tight fairways, if you make a mistake it is difficult to save par.  I only made one par on the front nine.  My approach shots were not very good today and I missed several easy putts.  Steve had a pulled rib cage muscle and that really affected his game.  Bob had the shot of the day, nailing a 65 footer on #12 for his third birdie.

Only three birdies were made today, all by Birdie Bob.  No discs lost but one disc found on #12.

Enjoying our Macho Tacos!

Austin Ridge Bible Church - Saturday Round

Since tomorrow is Easter and many of us have family obligations we decided to play a Saturday round at the Austin Ridge Bible Church.  Today's players were Steve, Lif, Dave, Wesley and Heady.  Again we were blessed with perfect weather, temperatures in the upper 60's and not a cloud in the sky.  It's been a while since we've played this course.  The course conditions were a little rough, this course has fallen into neglect and needs a little love.  We pretty much had the course to ourselves.  Holes 13 and 14 are closed for construction so we played hole 1 thru 3 over to make up for it.

I had some good throws again today, but a few disaster holes and some missed putts brought my score down.  I did manage a minor victory by making par on the difficult #8.  We encountered a three legged dog on #9 and she followed us for the rest of the round.  A very sweet girl.

A total of five birdies were made today:  Steve(3) and Dave(2).  No discs lost, Wesley found at least two discs in the pond.

I forgot to get my camera back from Bob yesterday so I had to take pictures from my phone.

Circle C - Good Friday

A few of us played hooky this afternoon to enjoy the beautiful weather and play a round at Circle C.  The players were:  Steve, Bob, Wesley and Heady.   Temperatures were in the 70's, not a cloud in the sky and a good breeze was blowing from the north.

I had some good throws today but I had some disaster holes and missed some putts.  I made par rather easily on #5 and just missed making par on #18.

Only three birdies were made:  Steve(2) and Wesley(1).  No discs lost but Steve found a DX Leopard on #16.

Circle C - Gorgeous Day

We finally had some outstanding weather to play disc golf.  Seems every week it has been windy or rainy or cold.  Today's players were:  Steve, Bob, Keith, Dave, Wesley and Heady.   Temperatures were in the 50's to 60's, there was a slight breeze and not a cloud in the sky.  Course conditions were good, I was surprised that it was not muddy from the recent rains.  There were quite a few other players on the course and we let several groups play through.

Not one of my better rounds for Circle C.  I was throwing some good drives and approach shots, but I missed a lot of putts.  I also had a few disaster holes where nothing went right.  A good round by Wesley who scored a personal best for this course.

Only four birdies were made today:  Bob, Wesley, Keith and Dave; all had one birdie.  No discs lost but Steve found one (of course).
