Flying Armadillo - San Marcos

After a hearty breakfast at Macho Taco, we headed south today to play the Flying Armadillo DGC in San Marcos.  I could not play last month when the group first played this course.  Also, Steve's friend Mark was in town and it was his birthday (but we did not know it), so it was a good opportunity for the group to play it again.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Lif, Dave, Mark and myself.  Temperatures were in the mid 80's when we started and the skies were mostly.  There was a breeze that blew often enough to keep things cool.

As a warm up, we played the  novelty course first.  This is fun collection of unique holes designed to test your short game.  I actually made an "ace" on the 120 foot, #6 Sunken Basket hole.  I not counting it as my first ace.

The Big Course is a very challenging technical course with beautiful hill country scenery.  It was kind of like playing the Church but with more trees.  I found myself 'in jail' several times behind clumps of small trees.  I really did enjoy playing this course and would like to play it again.  Keith had a fine game today crushing the competition.  I guess the week off did him good.  He almost made an ace on #13, his drive glided around some trees and bounced off the chains.

A total of four birdies were made:  Keith(3) and Steve(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
