Circle C

We had a small group today for a round at Circle C.  Today's players were Steve, Dave and Rob.  Everyone else was afraid of the rain.  Weather conditions were fair.  Temperatures in the 70's, clearing skies, little wind but very muggy.  Course conditions were muddy, but we've seen it much worse.  A few other groups were on the course today.

I played about average today.  My approach shots were very good today; however, I did miss a couple of easy putts.  Despite the muddy tee boxes, we all had pretty good drives, but we all had some bad putts.  All of us made bogey on #9 and #10.  We usually par both of those.  Dave and Steve missed several birdie shots.  Dave always hit his second chance at it!

Only two birdies today:  Steve(1) and Rob(1).

No discs lost but two discs found by Steve (of course).  Both laying on the fairway on holes 13 and 14.

Steve starts us off.  Blue skies ahead!

Steve and I both ended up in the creek on #18.  At least we got to wash the mud off our shoes.

North Town

We headed north to Pflugerville to play the North Town Disc Golf Course.  The players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the upper 70's, overcast skies and no wind at all.  It was very muggy and it did briefly rain on us.  Course conditions were muddy with standing water.  There were several other groups on the course but we did not have to wait on anybody.

My game was a little off, I was a little rusty after taking a week off.  I forgot how to drive on several holes in the back nine and I almost lost a disc in the pond on #12.   I did make a nice 60 foot putt on #5.

Congrats to Dave on the best score, he always plays well on this course.  A total of 12 birdies were made:  Dave(3), Keith(3), Lif(3), Steve(2) and Heady(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Flying Armadillo

Last weekend, after a hearty breakfast of Macho Tacos,  the group headed south to San Marcos to play a new course, The Flying Armadillo.  There are two courses, The Big Course and The Gold Course and it costs $5 to play both.  The players consisted of Steve, Lif, Dave, Keith and Brian.  I could not play so there are no pictures.

There were 4 birdies on the Big Course:  Keith(2), Steve(1) and Brian(1).

The Gold Course is a novelty, putt-putt type course with all the holes being par 2's.  There were no birdies but Keith did manage two double-bogeys.

Update: Lif sent a few photos:

Zilker Park - Mother's Day Early Start

We had an 8:00 start today at Zilker so Lif could attend to Mother's Day activities.  Today's group consisted of:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Keith and myself.  Temperatures were in the 70's, cloudy skies and an intermittent breeze.  We did get sprinkled on playing the back nine.  Course conditions were good, it could use a mowing but they are waiting for the bluebonnets to go to seed.  The course was not very crowded at all.

I played about average today maybe a little off.  My drives weren't going that well and my approaches could have been better.  I putted pretty well today although I did miss an easy one on #18.  It seems we all had a shot at an ace at some point.  The breeze made putting a little tricky.

Only five birdies were made today:  Steve(2), Dave(1), Lif(1) and Rob(1).  No discs lost, no discs found.
