Cat Hollow

We had a small group for a quick round at Cat Hollow in North Austin.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif and Rob.  Roscoe came along for the exercise.  Temperatures were in the mid 80's, hazy skies and pesky breezes.  Course conditions were very good, a little dry but well maintained.  Several other groups were playing today.

This course looks so easy on paper but I always seem to have a hard time with it.  The holes are fairly short but they require precise shots.  Steve had a good round, he ended up shooting even par.  Even Steven.

A total of 5 birdies were made:  Steve(4) and Heady(1).  No discs found, one disc almost lost but Lif climbed a fence to retrieve it.  There was blood.

Roy G. Guerrero

We played Roy G. again this week to accommodate me.  I needed to be in that area of town to enter in the Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Contest.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Brian, Bob and myself.  I had to bail out after 15 holes to enter my hot sauce.  Unfortunately, I did not place in the contest.  Temperatures were in the mid to upper 80's, sunny skies, calm winds but very humid.  The course was in a little better condition than it was last month.  The course did get some rain last week and they mowed some more fairways.

Only two birdies were made today:  Steve(1) and Dave(1).  Dave made the shot of the day for birdie on #16 from halfway and around the trees.  Sorry I missed it.  No discs lost and no discs found.

Circle C

Today we played Circle C in South Austin, one of my favorites.  Today's players were: Steve, Dave, Lif, Bob, Keith, Brian and Heady.  Temperatures were in the low 90's, sunny skies and only a slight breeze.  Course conditions were dry, the driest I've seen since last summer.  Only a couple of other groups were playing.

Even though I have not been feeling 100% the past week I did manage to have a pretty good round.  I think it was the lowest I've ever scored on the this course.  My drives were straight, but only about average distance, my approaches were close and I only missed one putt.  I think staying out of the rough greatly contributed to my low score.

A total of eight birdies were made today:  Steve(2), Rob(2), Keith(2) and Brian(2).  No discs lost, I think Brian found one on #11.
