East Metro Park - A Chilly Day in Manor

It was a chilly day when we played the challenging course of East Metro on Sunday.  The players were:  Chris, Bob, Lif, Dave and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 30's when we started but warmed up to the low 50's.  Sunny skies and no wind to speak of.  Course condition were a little muddy from the rains on Thursday.  There was evidence of wild pigs rutting up the fairways.  We only saw one other group on the course.

I played poorly today.  My drives were not too bad.  I was getting decent distance (when I didn't hit a tree) and they stayed in the fairway.  It was my approach shots that killed me.  I was a little off and left myself with 30+ foot putts, which I mostly missed.  There was much wailing an gnashing of teeth.  I had two chances at birdie and missed them both.  Chris had a pretty good round, ending up +3.

Only two birdies made today:  Chris(1) and Dave(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Roy G. Guerrero - The Last Warm Day

Today we attempted to conquer the challenging Roy G. Guerreo course again.  Even though they redesigned this course, it is still difficult.  It's possible to make a par on each hole, but you cannot make a mistake.  Today's players were:  Steve, Chris, Lif, Dave and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 70's, sunny skies and a little bit of wind.  A strong cold front is expected in the afternoon. The trees helped to block the wind.  Course conditions were good and there were many other groups on the course.

I played a little better than the last time I played this course.  I had some good straight drives today.  I got in trouble with the trees at time.  Lif had a putting adventure on #15.  Chris had a good back nine with only one bogey.

No birdies made today.  No discs found.  One disc (Dave's), split when it hit a tree.  It died a hero.

MetCenter - Last Round of the Year

MetCenter was the place to meet up at 8:30 this morning.  Today's players were:  Dave, Lif, Chris, Keith, Steve, Bob and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 40's when we started but warmed up comfortably.  Skies were sunny and no wind to speak of.  Course conditions were good, there was water in the creek.  There were a few other groups on the course.

I played about my average for this course.  My drives were ok, they just need to be about 20 feet further.  I only missed one easy putt, for a birdie.  However, I made a long one from about 40 feet on #13. Dave and Bob both had very good games.  Bob's forehand throws really had some distance.  Dave had consistent straight, long drives all day.  Chris had the shot of the day, after a terrible drive on #11, the threw his third shot in from about 100 feet for birdie!  Steve had an off day, he had a hard time getting consistent throws.

There were nine birdies made today:  Lif(3), Chris(2), Bob(2), Dave(1) and Keith(1).  No discs found and I think no discs lost.
