MetCenter - Onward Thru the Fog

It was a damp, foggy morning Sunday when we met up for a round at the MetCenter.   The players were:  Chris, Darden, Dave, Heady.  Steve was there for the experience.  He did some soft tossing and putting.  Because of the rains this week, course conditions were muddy and slick.  The creek was flowing.  We desperately needed the rain!  Temperatures were in the 70's, mostly foggy and no wind.  There were few players on the course when we started at 8:30 but many more players showed up by the time we finished the front nine.

Chris had a good round, the rest of us were mediocre at best.  Putting was my main problem, I missed about 5 easy putts.  On #12 I hit the chains dead center only to have the disc spit out.

Five birdies were made:  Chris(4) and Big Dave(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.  Videos at the end, blogger was being difficult today.

Steeplechase - The Wind Was Blowing

We met up at Macho Tacos in Manchaca at 8:00 to enjoy some breakfast tacos before heading down to Kyle to play Steeplechase.  Today's players were: Dave, Chris, Keith, Darden, Bob and Heady.  Steve had surgery on Friday so he was walking the course for exercise.  Temperatures were in the upper 60's when we started, sunny skies but a 20mph wind was blowing from the north.  Course conditions were fair.  The creek was almost totally dry and there were lots of tall weeds.  We spent a long time looking for errant throws.  Hole number 9 was truncated to make room for a playscape.  It's now a par 3.

I played about average today.  I made some stupid mistakes on some easy holes and that cost me a few strokes.  The wind was making it difficult for everyone.  Putting was an adventure.  I had the shot of the day with a birdie from halfway down the fairway on #8.

There were four birdies made today:  Darden(3) and Heady(1).  No discs lost and one disc found by Steve.

Circle C - Another Day in the Sun

The endless summer continues.  We met up a Circle C Sunday morning for a fun round of disc golf.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Chris, Bob and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's, not a cloud in the sky and only a slight breeze.  Course conditions were dry and crispy, we haven't seen rain in six weeks.  There were many other players on the course, a small tournament was going on.  We did have to wait several times.   Bob cut out after 10 holes.

I played about average today, I played solo on this course on Friday and did much better.  I wasn't getting a lot of distance on my throws and my arm started to give out on the last three holes.  Keith had some really good throws today.  On #10 his drive sailed just by the basket and he made a long come back putt for a birdie.

There were six birdies made today: Chris(3), Steve(2) and Keith(1).  No discs lost and two discs found.
