Wong Way Woods - Good Day

We met up again at Macho Tacos in Manchaca for a great breakfast before heading south to Buda to play Wong Way Woods.  Today's players were:  Chris, Darden, Lif, Steve, Keith and Heady.  The weather was great for the middle of November.  Temperatures were in the 80's, sunny skies and only a slight breeze.  Course conditions were good and dry.  Very dry.  There were a couple of other small groups on the course.

I played alright today.  My drives were good enough and my approach shots were accurate.  I did miss a couple of putts early in the round.  Lif damn near had a Black Ace on #18.  Nice distance Lif!

Lots of birdies today, 16 of them.  Chris(4), Darden(4), Steve(3), Lif(3) and Heady(2).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Darden starts us off!

Flying Armadillo - The Answer is Blowing in the Wind

Most of the group met up at Macho Tacos at 8:00 for a delicious breakfast before heading south to San Marcos to play the Flying Armadillo course.  We haven't played this course in four years and that's too long.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Dave, Chris, Keith, Darden and Heady.  Temperatures were in the upper 50's, skies were sunny and the wind was blowing with gust up to 25mph.  Course conditions were good and there were only a few other players on the course.

I played alright, considering that I was contending with a serious hangover.  Many of the fairways on this course are little tight and it is easy to get caught in the rough or behind a tree.  I had some really good drives on the back nine, finally getting some distance with some accuracy.  The wind was a factor and we all hit our share of trees.  I think I only missed one putt.

This really is a fun course to play and we should play it more often.  Too bad we didn't have the time to play the short course.  There were five birdies made today:  Steve(2), Darden(2) and Lif(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Cat Hollow - First Day of Standard Time

We had an extra hour of sleep last night before meeting up at 8:30 at Cat Hollow.  Today's players were:  Bob, Keith, Darden, Lif, Dave, Chris and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 50's when we started, not a cloud in the sky and calm winds.  Course conditions were good.  There were many other players on the course.

I played a little below my average today.  I couldn't get the fine touch on my approach shots.  Many were just plain wild.  My drives weren't that long but the were mostly straight.  I only missed one putt.

There were four birdies made today:  Chris(2), Lif(1) and Darden(1).  No discs lost and one disc found by Lif.
