Westside Park - Winter Solstice

The winter solstice occurred at 9:03 this morning, about the time we teed off at the Westside Park in Marble Falls.  Before the round we enjoyed a great breakfast at the Bluebonnet Cafe.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Keith and Heady.  It was a little chilly with temperatures in the lower 50's, but the sun was shining and there was only a slight breeze.  Course conditions were perfect and we were the only players on the course.

It took me a while to get loose today.  I really sucked on the front nine, with bad approach shots and missed putts.  It's easy to get caught behind some trees.  I picked it up some on the back nine but fell apart on the last three holes with stupid throws.

There were four birdies made today:  Lif(2), Steve(1) and Heady(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

East Metro Manor - Saturday Round

We decided to play a Saturday round at East Metro because the weather forecast for Sunday was for much colder temperatures and gusty winds.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Chris and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 70's, mostly cloudy skies and no wind to speak of.  Course conditions were good and there were a few other players on the course.

I started out alright on the front nine but fell apart on the back nine.  I didn't have a par on the back nine, although I did record one birdie.  My approach shots and putting let me down.  I went for it instead of laying up.  That, and poor putting resulting in too many double bogeys.

There were five birdies made today:  Chris(2), Steve(2) and Heady(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

MetCenter - My Putting Will Live in Infamy

The week we met up at the MetCenter at 8:30 for a challenging round of disc golf.  Today's players were:  Lif, Dave, Keith, Chris, Bob and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 50's, sunny skies and a slight breeze when we started, although it picked up some during the round.  Course conditions were fair, a little dry.  There were few players on the course.

Another below average week for me.  My drives were alright for the most part, my putting was terrible.  I must have lost six stokes because of poor putting.  I had three double bogies and one triple bogey.  I never had a look at a birdie.  Chris had a good round finishing with even par.

There were seven birdies made (not counting Bob's):  Chris(4), Lif(2) and Keith(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
