Roy G. Guerrero - The Struggle is Real

Another hot one in Austin this weekend.  We wanted to play a course that was close and had lots of shade and Roy G. Guerrero fit the bill.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Dave, Chris, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's when we started and 90's when we finished.  Sunny skies and not much wind.  Course conditions were good and there were a fair number of other players on the course.

Unfortunately, having lots of shade also means having lots of trees.  I hit my share of them.  I really couldn't get it going this week and wasn't able to string together three good throws in a row.  I had some decent drives that didn't hit a tree, but several of my approach shots were off the mark.  My 21 foot putt on #3 was dead center, hit the pole and spit out.  That was my day.  Keith had some good throws today and played better than his score reflects, if he only didn't miss so many putts.

Only two birdies made today:  Chris(2).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Sprinkle Valley - Feel The Power

Since it was going to be another scorching day in Central Texas, we decided to play a course that has a lot of shade.  We chose to meet up at Sprinkle Valley at 8:00am.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Chris, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the upper 80's to low 90's.  Mostly sunny skies and a slight breeze.  Course conditions were good and there were a fair number of other players on the course.  Not crowded my any means.

I played alright again this week.  Somehow I was throwing long straight drives today.  My approach shots were pretty good.  I missed one putt that I should have made but I also made a putt that I normally would miss.  This course is very challenging.  Several times I had three long straight throws and still wound up with a 40 foot putt.

There were four birdies made today:  Chris(3) and Lif(1).  No discs found but one disc lost (maybe) by Chris on #1.  He was going back to look for it.

MetCenter - Hot and Dry

We missed National Disc Golf Day on Saturday, we made up for it by playing a round at MetCenter on Sunday.  We met up at 8:00 to enjoy some Macho Tacos before a grueling round.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Keith, Chris and Heady.   Dave was back for a rehab round and he played until his body said not to.  Temperatures were in the upper 70's when we started and in the lower 90's when we finished.  Sunny skies and a cool, slight breeze that did not blow often enough.  Course conditions were good, the creek was mostly dry.  There were a few other players on the course.

I played alright today.  My drives, while not all the long, stayed in the fairways.  My approach shots were pretty much spot on.  I didn't hit any close trees and I made all my putts.  I did make a few stupid throws, but I always do.  Dave did alright, considering he hasn't thrown in months.  Chris was throwing some rockets, amazingly long drives.  Lif had some issues with grip lock.

There  were six birdies made:  Chris(2), Steve(1), Lif(1), Keith(1) and Heady(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
