Wong Way Woods - The Heat is ON!!

Most of us met up this morning at 8:00 at Macho Tacos in Manchaca for a hearty breakfast before taking the short drive south to Buck's Backyard in Buda to meet up with Darden.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Keith, Chris, Darden and Heady.  Temperatures were in the mid 80's when we started and the upper 90's when we finished.  Course conditions were dry and dusty.  A little overgrown in some places.  We were the only players on the course.

I played alright today. I had some decent drives and good approach shots.  I did miss a couple of putts and made some stupid mistakes.  Steve was making some good putts today.  I did have the shot of the day with and Ace on #3, the same hole Mark aced the last time we played.  There was much rejoicing.

There were ten birdies made today:  Chris(3), Steve(3), Dave(2), Keith(1) and Darden(1).  One eagle (Ace) was made by Heady.  No discs lost and one disc found by Chris.

Roy G. Guerrero - The Struggle is Real

Another hot one in Austin this weekend.  We wanted to play a course that was close and had lots of shade and Roy G. Guerrero fit the bill.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Dave, Chris, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 80's when we started and 90's when we finished.  Sunny skies and not much wind.  Course conditions were good and there were a fair number of other players on the course.

Unfortunately, having lots of shade also means having lots of trees.  I hit my share of them.  I really couldn't get it going this week and wasn't able to string together three good throws in a row.  I had some decent drives that didn't hit a tree, but several of my approach shots were off the mark.  My 21 foot putt on #3 was dead center, hit the pole and spit out.  That was my day.  Keith had some good throws today and played better than his score reflects, if he only didn't miss so many putts.

Only two birdies made today:  Chris(2).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Sprinkle Valley - Feel The Power

Since it was going to be another scorching day in Central Texas, we decided to play a course that has a lot of shade.  We chose to meet up at Sprinkle Valley at 8:00am.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Chris, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the upper 80's to low 90's.  Mostly sunny skies and a slight breeze.  Course conditions were good and there were a fair number of other players on the course.  Not crowded my any means.

I played alright again this week.  Somehow I was throwing long straight drives today.  My approach shots were pretty good.  I missed one putt that I should have made but I also made a putt that I normally would miss.  This course is very challenging.  Several times I had three long straight throws and still wound up with a 40 foot putt.

There were four birdies made today:  Chris(3) and Lif(1).  No discs found but one disc lost (maybe) by Chris on #1.  He was going back to look for it.
