Circle C - Wet Day

Playing disc golf this morning looked doubtful.  There were scattered showers all around the county, but when we arrived at Circle C at 9:00 the rain had stopped.  Today's players were:  Lif, Chris, Dave, Bob, Keith, Steve and Heady.  Temperatures were in the lower 50's and overcast skies.  There was no wind when we started but a good breeze picked up about halfway thru the round.  Course conditions were wet and slick.  Surprisingly, there were many other players on the course.

I played alright today.  I had some good drives and parked a few approach shots.  A few stupid mistakes cost me around four strokes.  Keith was all or nothing today.  He had several very long, straight throws. 😃  Unfortunately, these were followed by some really awful throws. 😫

There were five birdies made today:  Lif(2), Chris(1), Bob(1) and Keith(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Cat Hollow - Saturday Round

The weather forecast for Sunday morning is for below freezing temperatures and brisk winds.    With that in mind, we decided to play on Saturday at Cat Hollow (Brushy Creek).   We met up at 8:30 and ate the Macho Tacos that Steve brought.  Today's players were:  Lif, Dave, Donald, Chris, Keith, Steve and Heady.  It was a little cool when we started with temperatures in the 40's.  But the sun was shining and the wind was not too strong.  The breeze did pick up a little during the round.  Course conditions were good and there were many other players on the course.

I played much better than last week.  My drives were decent but my approach shots were much closer to the basket.  That made putting so much easier.  Donald had some very long drives today.

There were four birdies made today:  Donald(3) and Lif(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Enjoying some Macho Tacos!

East Metro Park - A Chilly Day in Manor

It was a chilly day when we played the challenging course of East Metro on Sunday.  The players were:  Chris, Bob, Lif, Dave and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 30's when we started but warmed up to the low 50's.  Sunny skies and no wind to speak of.  Course condition were a little muddy from the rains on Thursday.  There was evidence of wild pigs rutting up the fairways.  We only saw one other group on the course.

I played poorly today.  My drives were not too bad.  I was getting decent distance (when I didn't hit a tree) and they stayed in the fairway.  It was my approach shots that killed me.  I was a little off and left myself with 30+ foot putts, which I mostly missed.  There was much wailing an gnashing of teeth.  I had two chances at birdie and missed them both.  Chris had a pretty good round, ending up +3.

Only two birdies made today:  Chris(1) and Dave(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
