Circle C - First Game of Winter

We met up at 9:00 at Circle C to eat Macho Tacos and play some disc golf.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Darden, Chris, Keith and Heady.  It was a little chilly when we started, temperatures were in the 40's.  The skies were mostly cloudy but they broke up about halfway through the round.  There was no wind to speak of.  Course conditions were good and there were only a few other players on the course.  Thanks to Steve for bringing the breakfast tacos.

Nobody had a stellar round, Lif was the only one with a decent score.  The humidity was very low, combined with the cool temperatures made it difficult to get a really good grip on the discs.  Everyone had some wild throws.  This was one of my worst rounds at Circle C in a long time.  My drives were short and errant.  My approach shots were not very close and my putts banged off the basket.

Dave Darden drive on #1was painful when he threw backhand.  He played the rest of the round throwing forehand with mixed results.  Keith had the shot of the day with a 65 foot power smash to save bogey on #6.  Lif had a successful long birdie putt on #4.

Only three birdies made today:  Chris(2) and Lif(1).   No discs lost and one disc found in a tree on #7 by sharp-eyed Steve.

Dreamland - Blood, Sweat and Tears

It's been a couple of years since we've played Dreamland in Dripping Springs.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Dave, Lif, Bob, Chris and Heady.  Temperatures were in the lower 70's, mostly cloudy skies and a good breeze was blowing.  Course conditions were good, a little overgrown in a few places and some dangerous logs were on some fairways (more later).  We had the entire course to ourselves.

I played decent today.  I was happy with most of my drives.  My approach shots were close enough and I made almost all of my putts.  I did have a problem with my second throw on #14.  My follow thru took me into a fallen log.  A piece of wood the size of my thumb was impaled deep in my lower leg.  Fortunately, an expert medical professional was nearby and was able to extract the object and bind my wound.  I even played better after my injury, scoring two birdies!  That's some doctor!

There were four birdies made today:  Heady(2), Steve(1) and Chris(1).  No discs lost but two discs found!
