I spent the weekend in Cowtown, in Hell's Half Acre, but the group played Circle C today.  The players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Bob, DD and Mike.  Looks like Mike really did well.

Six birdies were made:  Mike(4), Dave(1) and DD(1).

Westside Park - Summer Solstice

I took the day off from work today to play the Westside Park in Marble Falls.  I won't be able to play with the group on Sunday and I wanted to get in a round.  I got to the park around 10:00 in the morning and it was already in the middle 80's and very humid.  I was going to keep score but I bogeyed the first three holes and decided that it was not worth it.  My drive on #1 got stuck in a tree and I had a difficult time finding a rock to knock it out.    I think I only bogeyed two more holes and had a birdie along the way.  I was playing on less than three hours of sleep, so that might have had something to do with it.

I was not getting the distance on my drives like I was last Sunday but it was good enough.  The holes on this course are not especially long but they are fair.  Anyway, it was good to get a round in.  This is a very pretty course and it is only about 35 minutes from my house.

Great basket placement

This is a challenging hole.  Not too long though

You need a good flick to get close here

I pretty much had the course to myself

Hole #11

This is a very technical course

This hole is good for lefty's

This is a short hole but it is guarded by trees

Lots of thin trees around this basket

On #16 it opens back up

MetCenter DGC

Since it has been dry for a few weeks we decided to give the MetCenter a try.  Today's players were:  Steve, Bob, Lif, Dave and Heady.  Skies were partly cloudy, temperatures were in the 80's and there was an occasional breeze.  We did get sprinkled on for a few minutes but it was not an issue.  Course conditions were good, the driest I've ever seen it.  Even the little creek was mostly dry.  There were several other groups on the course.

Something got into me today and I was throwing some very nice drives.  On #3 I thought I going to end up in the pond.  I lost my drive for a few holes on the back nine but got it back on #18.   My approach shots and  putting was inconsistent.  I did make a couple of good putts but missed a couple of them too.  I made my anger shots.

There were eight birdies made today:  Heady(4), Steve(2) and Bob(2).  No discs lost but Steve found two while looking for his drive on #11.

Rob starts us off!

Circle C

It was a warm and humid day for disc golf at Circle C.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Bob, Keith and Heady.  Temperatures were in the upper 80's, skies were mostly sunny and a good breeze was kicking up.  Course conditions were good and there were lots of players on the course today.  We let several groups play through.

I did not have one of my better rounds today.  I started out fine but I was inconsistent and really fell apart on the back nine.  I had some long drives, especially on #13 and #17 but ended up with bogeys on both holes.  My putting was horrible today, I went from birdie to bogey on two holes and missed several other putts that I should have made.  I did have the shot of the day on #11 to save bogey.  I had a blind throw about 70 from the basket from behind some trees and ivy.  I threw the disc at a steep angle into the wind and let the disc sail straight down into the basket.

Only four birdies were made today:  Steve(1), Keith(1), Dave(1) and Lif(1).  No discs lost but Steve found one on #11 while looking for mine.
