Circle C

It was a nice day for a round of disc golf at Circle C.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Bob, Lif, Donald, DD, Mike and Heady.  The weather was near perfect, temperatures were in the 70's, sunny skies and only a slight breeze.  Course conditions were clean and dry and there were several other groups on the course today.  Thanks to Steve for bringing the Macho Tacos!

I had about an average round, a couple of disaster holes brought my score down and I missed one putt when the chains threw my disc out.  Keith had a similar putting experience on #11.  Steve had a great approach shot on #18, down the tunnel.  DD had some long drives on #1 and #5.  Overall, the scores for the group were pretty good.

A total of seven birdies were made today:  DD(2), Steve(1), Keith(1), Bob(1), Heady(1) and Donald(1).  No discs found but I think Lif left a disc somewhere on the course.

Apache Shores - Tuesday Afternoon

I wanted to have a couple of guys from the group play this course to get their opinion.  Dave and Bob wanted to play it, so that's what we did on Tuesday afternoon.  Temperatures were in the upper 80's, sunny skies and only a slight breeze.  Course conditions were dry and rugged and there were lots of people playing the course.  It was so busy we played holes 16 thru 18 to allow a large group to get ahead of us.  We skipped #4 and ventured into the badlands to get around the group.

Both Bob and Dave liked the course.  Bob said the holes are like the Church but with the distances of Zilker.  Both said they would play it again.  Bob had the shot of the day with a blind, uphill, tomahawk birdie on #12, he threw it in from about 50 feet.  My approach shots were a little off today and I had a disaster on #14.  Some of the holes are so short they play like approach shots.

We managed to have five birdies:  Heady(2), Bob(2) and Dave(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

North Town - Pflugerville

We played North Town this week so we could get together after the round to check out Keith's new house in Manor.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Dave, Lif, Bob and Heady.  It was cloudy and temperatures were in the 50's when we started, but later the sun came out and it warmed up to the 70's.  There was a pesky breeze that always seem to blow when we were putting.  Course conditions were pretty good and there were lots of other players on the course, but I wouldn't call it crowded.

I played about my average for this course, I had some problems putting and got stopped by a few trees.  I did have the shot of the day with a 100+ foot laser through the trees on #7 to save par.  Kudos to Lif for a fine round and the low score.

A total of six birdie were made today:  Steve(2), Lif(1), Dave(1), Keith(1) and Heady(1).  No discs found but two discs lost, both on #12.  Bob lost one in the pond on his drive, Keith lost one in pond with his putt (don't even ask how).
