Brusy Creek - Wet Day

We were originally going to play Williamson County today but they closed the course because of the recent rains, so we decided to play nearby Brushy Creek instead.  Today's players were:  Keith, Dave, Donald, Lif, Bob, Brian and Heady.  Temperatures were in the 50's, skies were overcast and a little breeze was blowing.  On the fourth hole it started to rain.  And it rained and rained, thunder and lightening, and more rain.  We decided to push on.  Another group was still on the course playing.

I started out pretty well but I lost my #1 flick disc on #5 and I really missed that disc on this course.  While searching for the disc we had a little flash flood in the little creek and it quickly  swelled into a small river.  With the slick discs and the numb fingers we all had our problems today.  After the rain stopped the course got a lot more players.

There were four birdies made today:  Donald(1), Keith(1), Dave(1) and Brian(1).  One disc lost by me and one disc found by Lif.  Bob kept score as best he could with the wet paper, I think I compiled it correctly.

East Metro Park (Manor)

We had a big turnout for a Sunday round at the East Metro Park in Manor.  This is always a fun and challenging course but it is best played in the winter.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Brian, Keith, Bob, DaveD and Heady.  It was good to see Dave Darden playing again.  Temperatures were in the mid 50's when we started and in the mid 60's when we finished.  Skies were overcast, the air was humid and there was no wind.  Course conditions were a little muddy in places and the tee boxes were a slick.   We pretty much had the course to ourselves.

I played about average for this course.  If not for a few disaster holes my score would have been much lower.  I double bogeyed three holes that should have been easy pars and I missed too many putts.  If you don't keep your disc in the fairway then this course is very unforgiving.  Bob had a problem with his leg and could not get much power on his throws.  Steve had a nice round and ended up one over par.  He missed at least four birdie putts.

A total of 10 birdies were made today:  Steve(4), Heady(2), Dave(1),  Bob(1), Keith(1) and DaveD(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.
