Circle C

We played Circle C in South Austin this morning.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Dave, Bob and myself.  Temperatures were in the lower 60's, skies were overcast and a steady 15 mph was blowing.  Not bad for the end of February.  Course conditions were a little crowded today, especially on the back nine.  We got stuck behind a group of seven on #13.  It's a bad sign when they have folding stools.  They must have been regulars from Searight and they had course backed up.  They were playing the long tees but their drives barely made it past the short tees.

I played about average today.  I started out well but did poorly on a couple of holes that I usually make par on.  I did make three putts from over 30 feet but I also missed 3 putts from less than 20 feet.  My drives were about average but my approach shots could have been better.

A total of six birdies were made today:  Steve(4), Lif(1) and Heady(1).  No discs lost, no discs found.

MetCenter - Cloudy Day

We went southeast today and played the MetCenter DGC.  Today's players were:  Steve, Keith, Dave, BOB and Heady.  Good to see Bob again!  Temperatures were comfortable, in the upper 60's, skies were overcast with occasional light drizzle and winds were moderate.  Lots of players on the course today trying to get in a round before the rains later this afternoon.  Course conditions were good, the little creek had water and it was squishy in a few places.

I played about average today.  I have been getting good distance and accuracy on my drives this week.  My approach shots were about average and my putting could have been better.  I missed several putts early in the round.  One was for birdie on #4.

Steve had a great round and finished up at 4 under par.  Dave and I both make long putts, about 40 feet,  for birdie on #8.

Lots of birdies today, 14 of them:  Steve(6), Keith(4), Dave(2) and Rob(2).  No discs lost, although we did find the water often.  One disc found on the #1 fairway by Dave.

East Metro Park - Valentine's Day

On Valentine's Day we played the course we all love,  East Metro Park in Manor.  Today's players were:  Steve, Brian, Lif, Keith and Rob.  Dave called in sick.  Temperatures were in the lower 60's, overcast skies and a 15 to 20mph wind was blowing.  Course conditions were good and we only saw one other group on the course.

I played about average today.  I started out pretty good but missed a putt on on #3 and a birdie putt on #6.  The long par 5 hole, into the wind was difficult for everyone.  I ended up on the back nine with pars on the last five holes.

A total of six birdies were made:  Steve(3), Brian(2) and Keith(1).  No discs lost, one disc found by Steve (of course) on #8.
