Cat Hollow - Warm Day in January

Today we ventured up north and played the Brushy Creek (aka Cat Hollow) disc golf course.  Temperatures were in the mid 60's when we started and in the mid 70's when we finished.  Not bad for the last day in January.  Skies were sunny and a breeze was blowing.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Keith, Brian and myself.  Course conditions were very good and there were quite a few people playing on this nice Sunday morning.  This is a very clean neighborhood course with lots of trash cans.  Almost no litter.

I got off to a bad start and made bogey on holes that I should have made par.  I picked it up a little on the back nine.  My approach shots were not really good today which lead to some long putts.  The wind was messing with everyone's throws.  Keith had a putting adventure on #14.

A total of 10 birdies were made:  Steve(4), Brian(3), Keith(2) and Lif(1).  No discs lost and no discs found.

Circle C

This morning we played the Circle C Metro Part in South Austin.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Keith, Brian and Heady.  Temperatures were in the low 40's when we started but warmed up to the high 50's when we finished.  Skies were mostly sunny and the wind was calm when we started, but a pesky breeze kicked up during the back nine.   Course conditions were excellent.  No mud on the tee pads or trails and they cleared a lot of brush from some of the fairways.  Hardly anybody else was on the course this morning.

I started out playing very well and finished the front nine at one over par.  My drives were decent and my approach shots were close enough.  On the back nine I missed a lot of putts that I should have made.  I had a string of six bogies in a row and each of those should have been a par.  I can't blame them all on the wind.

Brian started out hot, making birdies on three of the first four holes.  He finished the front nine at one under par.

A total of nine birdies were made:  Brian(3), Keith(2), Steve(2), Dave(1) and Rob(1).  No discs lost, no discs found.

North Town

In an attempt to rid ourselves of the stinky scores last week at Roy G., we decided to play North Town in Plugerville again.  Today's players were:  Steve, Lif, Brian, Keith, Mac and Heady.  It was a little chilly when we started, temperatures were in the middle 30's but there was plenty of sunshine and the winds were calm.  Course conditions were good and there weren't too many other players.

I started out playing well, but then I missed a few putts and started overthinking my drives and things went downhill quickly.  I even lost a disc in the pond on number 12. Everyone got bit by the putting bug.  We all missed putts in a variety of ways.  Bouncing off the top, skipping off the links or flying through the chains.

A total of nine birdies were made:  Keith(3), Lif(2), Steve(1), Brian(1), Mac(1) and Heady(1).  No discs found but two discs lost.  My drive on #12 and Keith's drive on #14.
