No game to report, over six inches of rain fell in the Austin area over the weekend. Next weekend's weather looks iffy at this point.
I created this blog to keep track of my disc golf games. I will also add topics relevant to the sport of disc golf.

Old Settlers' Park - Round Rock
Today we took a drive far up north to play Old Settlers' Park in Round Rock, Texas. We only play this course about once a year because it is so far away and the holes are very long. We usually wait to play this course until the weather cools down. Today's players were: Steve, Dave, Lif, Brian, Keith and Rob. It was a little cool when we started, temperatures in the mid 60's, but it warmed up nicely. Bright sunny skies and a pesky wind was blowing.
This is a real bomber's course. If you can consistently throw 300 feet than you will love this course. I can't throw like that, but I like the course anyway. There aren't many trees to contend with but there are some water hazards. The course is mostly flat but some holes have some elevation.
I played about average for this course, I only had a few pars. The wind was real factor with driving and putting.
Only one birdie was made today, Steve on the bonus hole 13B. No discs found, no discs lost. We almost lost Keith's disc on #16 but luckily it floated back to shore.

North Town
A small group of us played up north in North Town this morning. The players were: Steve, Big Dave, Lif and Heady. Temperatures were in the upper 70's, sunny skies and a slight breeze. Course conditions were very dry. There was hardly any water in the creek. They had another mini tournament this morning and we got stuck behind a slow group. Even with the slow play we managed to finish in about two hours.
I played about average today, maybe a little below average. My drives were straight and getting some distance. My approach shots were inconsistent and I missed a few long putts that I thought were going to drop in. I probably could have shaved 5 strokes off if I could correct those issues.
We had seven birdies today: Dave(3), Lif(2), Steve(1) and Rob(1). Dave seems to get a lot of birdies on this course. Two discs lost, both by Dave in the pond on #12. No discs found.

Circle C
Today the group of Steve, Dave, Keith, BOB and Heady played Circle C in South Austin. Weather conditions were ideal, temperatures in the 70's, sunny skies and a slight breeze. Course conditions were still very dry and only a few other players were on the course. It was such a nice day that most of the group played a second round.
I did not have one of my better rounds today, control and putting issues hampered my game. I did considerably better when we played a second round.
A total of six birdies were made: Keith(3), Steve(2) and Bob(1). No discs lost, Dave found one disc on the second round.
We all played significantly better the second round. Too bad we didn't keep score. We were only going to play five holes but we just couldn't stop.
Steve had an unbelievable second round! He birdied the first four holes and ended up making a total of eight birdies for the round. The most impressive birdie was on #18 with a 30 foot putt. His drives were really taking off and went forever. On #13 his drive ended up under the basket. I think he finished -6 for the bonus round.
