Northtown - Keith's Poker Party

Saturday night we grilled some meats and played poker at Keith's house in Manor.  We played until about 3:30 in them morning, I had one too many shots of mescal.  Sunday morning we woke up bright and early, picked up some breakfast tacos and drove to Pfluggerville to play the North Town Disc golf course.

There was a steady rain when we got to the course, so we hung out under the pavilion and ate our tacos.  There were about 30 other guys hanging around waiting for the rain to stop.  We think there was some kind of a tournament  going on.

Today's players were:  Dave, Brian, Lif, Keith and Heady.  After the rains stopped it pretty much cleared up and the sun came out.  We did encounter a very brief shower on hole #12.  The course conditions were good, the grass has grown some and it was wet from the rain.

Keith had a very good round, shooting -2 on the back nine to end up +3 for the round. A total of seven birdies were made:  Keith(5), Dave(1) and Brian(1).  No discs found, two discs lost into the water, Dave on #12 and Brian on #14.

La Miranda Regional Park (Front 18) California

Today I played the beautiful La Miranda Regional Park course in La Miranda, California.  This is another very clean, par 3 course located in a city park.  Of the three courses I have played out here this week, I think this is the prettiest.  Very nice grass, huge palm trees and tranquil pond in the middle of it.

I hooked up with another player on the first tee, Wayne from New Mexico.  He was playing the course while his family went to Disneyland.  I would have done the same.

As with the other two courses I've played this week, there was no rough.  The pond did come into play a little bit.  The only hazard on the course were people walking through the fairways, completely oblivious to the danger they were in.

I was throwing pretty good today, my drives were decent and I made most of my putts.  My approach shots are still a little off.  I did manage one birdie today on hole #8.

No discs found, one disc lost.  Wayne's first throw super anhyzered and went in to the pond.
