East Metro Park

Since Steve will be out of the country for the next month we decided to play East Metro Park in Manor before it got too overgrown.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Brian, Keith and Heady.  It was overcast when we started but the clouds quickly burned off and it turned out to be a warm day.  It was a little breezy and the wind affected many of our throws.

I played a little below average today,  too many of my drives went astray or into the ground.  My approach shots were long and I missed a few putts.

A total of six birdies were made today:  Heady(2), Steve(1), Brian(1), Keith(1) and Lif(1).  No discs lost, no discs found.

Austin Ridge Bible Church - Afternoon and Evening

With sunny skies and temperatures in the middle 80's I just had to get out today to play some disc golf.  At lunch I played seven holes and I was pretty hot.  My first throw on #1 flew straight down the fairway and ended up only a couple of feet from the basket.  An easy tap in birdie.

I had a couple of good throws on #2 and almost flicked in a birdie from 100 feet out.  It bounced off the chains at the base of the ring.  Would have been nice to have birdied the first two holes.  I made par on #3, bogey on #4 and pars on #5 thru #7.  I wish I could play like that on Sundays.

This evening I played again but was not nearly as sharp; however, I did manage to birdie #3.  I had a long drive past the big tree.  My second shot ended up right before the creek.  I made a twenty foot putt across the creek for the birdie.  Can't remember if I ever birdie that hole before.

Nice drive on #1.  Easy birdie!

Third shot this afternoon on #3.  Stuck the landing!

Circle C - Last Minute Decision

We originally planned on playing Manor this weekend but heavy rains on Saturday cancelled those plans.  We thought it would be raining the morning but the weather turned out to be pretty nice.  We decided to play the old favorite, Circle C again.  I never get tired of playing this course.  Dave showed his dedication to the sport by coming to the course directly from the airport.  Today's players were:  Lif, Dave, Brian, Steve and Heady.

There were a couple of large groups at the first tee when we walked up.  Not a good sign to see a large group with chairs and dogs.  We did not want to get stuck behind them so we cut in and started on the #8 hole.  Course conditions were muddy, but we've seen worse.  We did not see any other players on the course.

I don't think any of us had a really good game today.  I could never really get my drives off today and I missed two putts that I should have made.  We all hit our share of trees.  I think the slick tee pads had something to do with it.

Only two birdies made today:  Steve(1) and Dave(1).  No discs lost, no discs found.

North Town - The Ides of March - Dave's Ace

It has been about a month since we have played as a group.  We had everyone today except Bob.  Today's players were:  Steve, Dave, Lif, Keith, Brian and myself.  Temperatures were in the upper 50's, skies were hazy and no wind.  The course had seen a lot rain the past weeks and the water hazards were full.  There were even some new ones.  Our discs managed to find the water on almost every hole that had a water hazard.

Dave had the shot of the day!  An Ace on #8.  Beautiful throw, curved around the trees and into the basket.  There was much rejoicing!

I threw poorly today, could not really get a good drive off.  I got off to a poor start and the back nine was about average.  My setup shots were marginal. My putting was good today, although I did miss one putt on #16 that I should have made.

One Eagle today (hole in one):  Dave(1).  Five Birdies:  Brian(2), Keith(1), Lif(1) and Rob(1).

No discs found.  Three discs lost.  Dave into the pond with his drive on #12.  Steve into the pond with his putt on #12.  And Dave into the pond with his drive on #14.
